They call them DOGS! Those types go out and mate (they are acting like animals right?) then return home so they can get some food.
You are correct! Married women and men participate in this equally. From a sexual standpoint you can always teach your mate something new. From an emotional standpoint you just have to keep things fresh.

People cheat and stay married because cheating isn't always the end of a relationship.
I am not saying I don't see it your way. I have never and will not cheat on my husband. However, it's not a black and white issue.
People have their reasons for everything they do, you might not agree with them, but until you've walked a mile, you don't know!
What about people that really love one another, and one partner HATES SEX? Is the other one supposed to give up sex forever? At that point it's just about sex. That's it. Not about love, trust, or commitment.
What if a person cheats because they have a chemical imbalance and are so depressed that they feel absolutely nothing, and cheating is a call for help? Does that mean they have no morals?
There's a grey area, ALWAYS.

People cheat for LOTS for reasons. The library has a bunch of books on the subject. But the argument that seems to have the most support behind it is that people cheat because they aren't getting what they need at home. Sex, emotional support, you name it, they get it away from home because they think they can't get it at home.
Personally, I think that is a bunch of hooey but a lot of people believe it to be true. I think it is a lot of immaturity and selfishness that causes people to cheat. They don't realize the potential pain they cause and only think of themselves by doing so. Where does the immaturity come in? They don't accept the "forsaking all others" part in their vows and that it means that in order to get all of the wonderful parts of being married and having a life partner you have to give up sleeping with other people.
To the second part of your question: Why do they stay married? Because they found that life inside a marriage is much better than life outside of marriage and they don't want to lose what they have. Especially if you are cheating and can both have your cake and eat it, too.

We can all agree that cheating on your spouse is the ultimate no no, but there is a reason a lot of couples stay together. For some it for due to religious reasons. For others it is ignorance you know living by the old saying " if the cats away the mice will play" and excepting less than. And for a small group they simply believe marriage is a constant uphill battle and they are in it for the full war. This is just a bump in the road and were just gonna keep on truckin' together. I know for most of us optimistic singles it is hard to understand but unfortunately people are not perfect and the WILL make mistakes ( often really big mistakes) but you must accept that when we make vows we agree to attach our lives, hopes , and dreams to another human being, not a demi god. All we can do is pray for the best and make sure you do not give in to any of your own temptations.

cheating and staying with the other while you are married .....although it doesn't stand up morally, there are reasons why people do this and stay together:
1. because of money
2.Because you are comfortable with the way things are in your life but there is no love and neither one of you want to do anything about it.
3 there are children involved.
4. And because you can and it a trill for some people
Not saying that any of this is right but its how it is

If the intimacy ends but there are children, many people seek warmth, friendship and intimacy elsewhere. There is no moral high ground here, but your attitude is pretty harsh - people are human and they often feel isolated and lonely within a relationship. Lighten up and wait till you are 90 before you think you know everything about what life can throw at you....

Some cheat and stay married because they want the best of both worlds. Usually, it does not last a long time.

Because some people want to have their cake and eat it too. If i felt the need to cheat i would leave. Because the marriage would have been already over.

It could be that they realized they screwed up and learned from their mistake before it was too late.
Since, not everyone is a fast learner might be why some people just keep making mistakes.
