here are the benefits............there see we are treated the same. Black people are upset that after the slave trade they were sent to what is the modern day ghetto and at that time whites were privileged it is a ancient myth.

No, seeing that I'm black I do not benefit from white privilege, also I have yet to see that I have gained anything from Affirmative Action either, but one can see white privilege and really get that it was the original Affirmative Action. I cannot tell you how much I think this planet sucks.

No, no white privilege here. I will say that I think the need for affirmative action is a sad, sad thing here in the US. To think that a group of human beings can't seem to see that the color of a persons skin has little to do with the character of their person or abilities. Affirmative Action had to be enforced so that a smaller group of people could have the same rights as a larger group of people because the larger group of people won't work with them because,....well because of the color of there skin. Well after all that does make them inferior now doesn't it? Go figure!

I am a Black man, so, if anything, I am indirectly hurt by "White Priveledge". I think that White Privilege is the "normalcy" that most, if not all, White Americans experience in this country. As for affirmative action, I think that it is important to offset the gross inequities which exist to this day as a result of hundreds of years of legally sanctioned racism, degradation, and second-class citizenship.

It is like a fish in water it is at home and can survive with ease, take out of its natural environment and it struggles to live and survive, White society is like this if you put a white person into a environment that is not theirs and expect them to thrive is unreasonable, they will cope but never adapt without changing the environment to mirror their own, when you live in a culture that is your own you thrive, otherwise you live on the marginal outskirts of life always look inward to what you can never have.

No, I don't benefit from white privilege-I'm female. When affirmative action came around I was approached by some males from a different company and they asked me to come to work for them-an all male, all white company. They explained to me that they would rather have me (white female) than have to hire any blacks. Yea, that really made me want to work for them. I will say that I find it an absolute fact that the good ol' boys stick together. But then so do all groups that have any control. No one wants to surrender control and you usually want to pass that on to your children. I think that affirmative action got a lot of blacks in places they wouldn't have had the chance to be and a lot of that was good because everyone should have an equal chance. But then it became unfair when you were the one passed over so that someone less qualified could be hired to meet quotas. You be the judge.
