def. try www.pandora.com not only does it give you the artist you want to listen to but similar artists as well. and it doesn't constantly repeat. it's really cool and you should check it out.

These are the three I alternate between:
Q104.3 outof NYC is really good. (www.q1043.com) They play a mix of new and classic stuff.
My hometown station - WPDH out of the Hudson Valley is also good (www.wpdh.com) Their morning show is freakin' funny! The station in general plays a good mix of music though. (The evening guy is awesome if you dig the "hair bands")
KOMP from Las Vegas plays a lot of the newer stuff, not much older than about 10 years old though. (Unless it's Metallica, Ozzy, Crue, or Sabbath - they'll play all that old stuff!)

There's a good classic rock station in Baltimore called 100.7 The Bay. You can stream their broadcast from www.thebayonline.com

You should probably check out http://www.music.yahoo.com where you can personalize your radio station with the bands/songs you like. They play whatever you want, when you want!
