My fiance and I are looking for honeymoon destinations. We are wanting beachy, private, relaxed, good weather, nice hotel. Just curious where you stayed and what you did if you've been there?

OR

Which destinations would you recommend for honeymooning under those guidelines? Right now we are open to any ideas.

(And if anyone needs to know...we don't want to spend over $500 max on hotel, so nothing over that!!)

You can easily get accommodation in Bermuda for less that $500/night. If you meant total, Bermuda is not where toy want to go. Hotels can cost $300/night easily, I have stayed in The Grotto Bay Beach Club and loved it. Beautiful views, pool, caves on the property, (cave swimming), and it is very easy to catch the bus from there to anywhere on the island (with15 min frequency).
I have also stayed at Auntie Nea's Inn. More of a Bed and breakfast (and free wifi). Right in the town of St Georges walking distance to several beaches and restaurants. Both places were around $250/night.
If that is beyond tour budget try the cruise thing as Tinkertoy suggests. Even Groceries are a bit pricey ($10 six pack beer, $6 for Coke). If you don't like boats.
The Dominican Republic is pretty good on a budget, and airfare is a steal. Especially if you live in a city that Spirit or Air-Tran airways has departures from. I went to the DR for $18 on Spirit Air!! Plus you get the benefit of a favorable exchange rate.
Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage!
Update: I found these wedding websites in a Bermuda Mag.

I have been to Bermuda twice on cruise ships. And that's the only way I recommend that you go. Hotels, food, and everything else is very expensive in Bermuda. You $500 would probably get you 2 nights in Bermuda and then you would spend a bunch on food.

I suggest a cruise to Bermuda if that's a destination you want to see and enjoy. Cruises are available from several cruise lines out of Boston, NY, and occasionally Baltimore, Norfolk and Charleston, SC. You can get a cruise for maybe $600 to $700 a person, but that would include all of your meals, plus some shows and other entertainment. A 5,6, or 7 day cruise is plenty enough time to see all of Bermuda. The island is only 22 miles long and there is not a lot to see. Mostly great beaches. The main town is Hamilton. St George is another town that ships stop in and they also dock at the Kings wharf. There is a very good public transportation system on the island that will take you all over, even right to the best beaches, Elbow Beach, and Long Bay Beach.

A honeymoon in Bermuda is great. My wife and I went there for our honeymoon. We stayed at 9 Beaches which is on the western edge of the island. It was a nice place. Relaxed and calm. Make sure you rent a scooter while on the island. The bus lines tend to get packed. Elbow Beach was by far the best beach we went. Beautiful scenery and not crowded at all. The people were really nice and laid back and make sure you visit Hamilton if you don't stay in the city.

Our family was there last week and we stayed at Dawkins Manor in Paget, Parish. It is a nice place and you can buy food at the grocery store (2 min walk) and cook your own meals in your room. Which we found was a lot cheaper. The facilities are great. They have a small ourdoor pool and its just a 5 min walk to Elbow Beach! Have fun!!

Bermuda is great but you may get a cheaper deal in the Caribbean such as St Lucia.
