in the atmosphere is leading to major climatic changes. They know about the Ozone and the resulting increase in ultraviolet radiation. You can go outside any summer day in a major city and see the immediate effects of auto pollution. Why can't they just agree that we should be more environmentally conscious. It will help us become independent of foreign oil if we stop using oil and oil byproducts? Would it not substantially defund terrorism?

Well Sally in life as you grow older you will come to understand that when faced with a problem that is getting worse you look at what you CAN do. We have no control over active Volcanoes. We have control over how we contribute to any problem. You can get Cancer from Gamma radiation which is every where and unstoppable. You can also get it from Smoking or working with asbestoes, and injesting other carcenagens. So by your logic you should just keep on smoking and doing other harmful things to youself because Gamma radiation is out there.

What you are talking about, is a type of carbon that is only found in fossil fuel. It is easy to track the steady rise in that carbon. It matches the rate of global warming that is causing Global Climate Change. What so many people don't understand, is the degree that science can measure the carbon increase, and it's effects. When they spout some nonsense, about when once upon a time, scientists claimed that another ice-age was coming,what they don't say is that was a theory put forth by only a few scientists,and quickly disproved ! There are only the 'paid' scientists claiming that it's not happening, or it's not gonna be that bad.
If you had 100 firefighters telling you that your house was on fire,and 2or3 told you they had no proof,what would you do?
You don't want to ever hear that your house is on fire,but does believing the couple of guys, that say what you want to hear, keep your house from continuing to burn?
We're already seeing the horrible effects right now in Texas !An of inch of rain in 15 min. for 4or5 hours straight ! When was the last time that happened? Things can go very bad, very rapidly on this planet ! If ya know what's coming, you'll be better off than the fools who are in denial now !

I don't know, but even if people can't agree on what is actually causing the climate changes, it is myopic to ignore the fact that we need to clean up this planet, the pollution in the air, the water, the depleted top-soil, and the raping of the rain forests, are still damaging this planet, and these issues need to be addressed on their own merit....otherwise we will not have a planet to call our home, and we also may very well cause the extinction of our entire species!

There are several studies that show livestock are a very close second to cars in producing greenhouse gasses. Perhaps we should kill all the cows, sheep, pigs and horses.
