Is there a personal banking widget that you know of?

I want to be able to see my account balance on my dashboard. Anyone come across a widget like this?

Use some third party software you know nothing about to access all your financial accounts. Does this sound dangerous or risky to you ?

Not really, most banks require you to type in your password and your pin when you log into your bank account on-line. Kind of hard to do while driving.
