What makes incest so wrong?

A drunken heated debate last night leads me asking for your guys opinions....

Look at the body structure of Pharaoh Akhenaten, he was misshapen. The Egyptian royalty practiced brother-sister marriage. Infant mortality and birth defects were very high,
The Royal families of Europe married their cousins and this produced a high rate of hemophilia and other genetic conditions.
All organisms benefit from greater genetic diversity, not less.

Is this a serious question? Was there really a debate about incest? Because, if you have to ask then I have to wonder. Anyhow, Incest is wrong on so many levels. In what way would it be right for a parent, aunt or uncle, or sibling to be sexually involved. Children would be born with some sort of mental or genetic handicap, not to mention, psychological disorders. I know that there are cousins and sometimes 1st cousins who get together, but even then you are pushing the genetic lotto for a family related disorder. Who, other than someone with a sick mind, can argue for incest such a debate?

Incest is considered by many sociologists to be the only act that is seen as universally immoral by all societies. Views on what is moral and what is immoral can vary wildly from one culture to the next as a civilization can still thrive despite of believing murder, rape, cannibalism, etc. to be positive practices, and continue to pass these beliefs on to the next generation. Incest on the other hand, if practiced by a culture too much will eventually destroy it as this would lead to inbreeding and the breakdown of the gene pool.

Studies have shown that children raised as siblings have an inhibited sexual attraction to one another, an incest aversion. Many animals species also possess psychological aversions.

Well 1st children are born 99.9% of the time mentally retarded or handicapped in some way to incestial sex, secon having your brother pound away at your "how do ya do" simply is gross, or your very own father. Thinking of my mother i cant sorry i need to stop there it is just too gross to even think about, i really hope you have some more intelligent friends because iff there are people out there defending incest then need to be left far behind.

I always thought it was pretty self explanatory that having your dad or your brothers penis in you was wrong on SO many levels. I say that there are too many fish in the sea to go dipping in the family gene pool.
