Why do men have to lie????????And when they get caught, why do they want you to just forget about it, like nothing happened?How can a woman show that she is serious about it?I am sick of being trampled on, and it has forced me to become as hard as a rock...HELP!!!

I am married.Well, He lied about where he was, then accused me of not trusting him, had a chance to tell the truth, then lied again!Come on...Do you see stupid written on my forehead?Lies about not being drunk, yet staggers around like he cleaned out the bar!We parted for a few weeks(me trying to make myself clear)When this woman (ex-prostitute-niece-of-my-husbands-stepmother-who-wants-my-man) heard we are gonna try councelling, she's trying to break us up - sending anonomous sms's to my phone, and when I try to call, its on voicemail...I know its her!anyway, the lying thing happened before, and I left, came back - Him full of promises - only to be back at the same spot as we were 3 months ago, but now its worse, and I have a memory like an elephant, so nothing can go past me...but I need help on how to get through to him.

Honestly, I think that we all lie from time to time, just about different things...it just really sucks when the lie hurts us. It would depend on the lie, what its about and how often it happens...if it is a big lie, walk away, once someone starts that crap it is very difficult for them to stop and they rarely want to.
It is hard to open up after we have been hurt...and as much as I believe in the greater good in people, I also know that there are many selfish people out there that don't give a crap about anyone besides themselves. I just trust in the greater good, and although believing in people may get me screwed over, and may have made me less open than I used to be...I hold strong to the fact that
I cant give all my trust right away, and in the end, my life is about me...and someone else will only add to it, not make it.

the only way to show you are serious is to act like you are! If this is a deal breaking lie, you have to end the relationship. If this isn't a deal breaker, you have to always follow through with consequences to his actions.
When people lie, they always want to sweep it under the rug and make you forget as soon as possible. It's called minimizing, making a mole hill out of a mountain. It's a manipulation tactic that usually works, but leaves it's victim feeling confused, unhappy. Most of the time a person lying doesn't think you're stupid...they just hope your desire to believe them will override your feelings of betrayal. It sounds like you are in the middle of drama city, and you should probably run while you can!

perhaps your question should be why does MY husband/boyfriend lie...you just lumped 3+ billion people together in with the one single one that you are currently angry with.
Why does your man lie? You'll have to ask him. Typical reason is to cover their butt.
If you are sick of being trampled on, then why not move on? Hanging around for more trampling doesn't get the point across that you find the behavior unacceptable. Leaving their sorry lying butt DOES get the point across (although they probably won't change, at least it won't be your problem anymore).

There's a relationship expert who comes on a local radio station that I listen to. He always says the #1 reason people lie is to avoid confrontation. He tells people they need to talk about honesty and that the person being lied to has to make it "safe" for the liar so that he knows he can tell the truth without fear.

Why, who knows. The only way I know to be taken seriously is to walk, if he lies, you walk out. Sooner or later you'll weed out the liars from the real men.

well if ur married and want to show him that ur pissed and serious just dont give him any tell him til he appologizes and tells the truth and really sucks up u will give it back til then i wouldnt budge or if u like me if its somehting like dirty clothes not picked up then tell them ur on a laundry strike or a cooking strike worked here for about a week
then he missed my cooking and lovin lol
