I just watched that movie last night on HBO and I thought it would be more funny than it was since will ferrel ( a actor I find very funny) was in it. I don't no if I think he should've played it or not. Anyone have opinions on that?

I thought he was perfect. He has the tragically comedic role down. You can laugh when bad things happen to him but you still want it to turn out good for him in the end. I think it all work very well.

Why not? If he continues to play the same goofy roles over and over, it will get old, and he'll be out of a career. Ask Jim Carey. If not for doing a "Truman Show" or "Eternal Sunshine" for every "Ace Ventura" or "Dumb and Dumber" he did, he'd have been finished years ago. Doing new things will give Will more range, more experience, and ultimately make him stay fresh. So even if you didn't like "Stranger than Fiction," be glad he takes the time to do things like that once in awhile. The alternative is likely him losing his touch and not even being funny in the "ha-ha" comedies.

I think he was trying to branch out like Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey have done. I was surprised by how good I thought he was in a more serious role.

I thought it was very good. It showed a different comedic side of him. The movie wouldn't have been the same without him.
