Will it hurt my ball pythons for part of his split tongue to be gone?

I noticed that it was gone a while back. But then I just noticed that the whole side is gone will it hurt him at all? Could it mess up his tasting senses?

Do not worry he will be fine. Not to mention it is a pet and does not have to hunt for his food. The tongue will still be able to do its job if a small section is missing.
