Insurance companies approve coverage of breast reductions due to the back pain and other health issues that come with big breasts.

You could always get a second opinion from another doctor.

Depending on how much pain you have, will depend on when you get a breast reduction done. Some doctors will not do a reduction on someone not over 18 due to the fact that the women are not done growing yet. BUT there ARE cases that operate under 18 if that person was in great amounts of pain.

I had one done Feb 2006 and the back pain I had since puberty was gone, it felt so good. Mine was covered 100% by insurance.

That site I posted is a great site to help you and others out.

I don't think medicaid will pay for something like this. MAybe if the surgery was for a kidney replacement then they will but probaly not. There should be a website you can go for these kind of questions or a phone number that you can call. If the doctor reccomended that you have he surgery and he/she has a legidimate reason then yes the insurance will improve it .Are there other options that can help you with the pain in your back and neck? Be sure to check with the insurance/medicaid company and comsult with your doctor for further instructions. It also depends on which state you live in to have medicaid coverage.

I had my surgery 8 weeks ago and it cost me AU $11,500. I tried to save as much as I could and then I took out a loan from my parents for the rest.
Ignore what some people say-- I couldn't care less if mine had of been covered from tax payers money, SO WHAT- you will be paying taxes for the rest of your life so you may as well get something out of it if you can.

Try and get a job and speak with your family about other options of payment. Breast Reduction is not counted as cosmetic surgery-- it is performed to benefit you physically and mentally- just the same as any other surgeries.

Breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

um, why can't you ask your parents for help. or better yet, get a summer job, save up $$$. Also, try PT it does work.

I don't want my hard earned tax $$$ paying for someone who is able to work. I'd rather see the funds go to someone who actually derserves it like a very sick elderly person, a child that has cancer, or someone with diabetes.

Trust the doctor. listen to him first. if it does fail, then he can recommend surgery. That's what medicaid will look at. I use to bill medicaid at a local hospital and they want to make sure all pts. do EVERYTHING their MD tells them to before rushing into surgery.

There would have to be a valid medical reason for Medicaid to do that. They won't even pay for some stuff that IS necessary.

I hope to god not. My tax dollars should go to help crippled children or elderly with no insurance and not your boobs. Study hard, get into a good college, make lots of money and pay for the surgery yourself.
