My boyfriend and I will be in Boston on July 2nd for a Red Sox game. It's a night game so we will have all day in Boston. What should I do (besides the Quincey Market thing, the last time I was in Boston I was 12 and all I remember doing was going to quincey market??) We like good food and enjoy going to new restaurants so any foodies from Boston can you recommend a good restaurant for lunch, what is there to do or what website could I go to to look for stuff to do in Boston. By the way we're both Italian, what section is the Italian section??

By the way we're driving so what do we do with the car? Is there a place to leave it for the day or is there ample street parking when we go from place to place???How's the subway system?

The North End is the premier Italian section of Boston. My perennial favote suggestions: The Original Regina Pizzeria on Thacher Street (they have other sites but none have the original ovens and pans -- pizza simpy is the best); Pomodoro's on Hanover Street for made-to-order cuisine at lunch and dinner (only 16 seats so it fills up fast); Mike's Pastries on Hanover Street for dessert.
There's an Edward Hopper exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts that is wonderful. Their restaurant has a wonderful selection of unique food or there's a small sandwich/salad cafeteria.
Near Fenway on Boylston Street, Burton's Grille has opened a restaurant. I usually go to the one in Hingham but I'm told this is every inch the equal in food and hospitality.

I'm only concerned about the time factor...are you only there for that one day??
Sounds like you definitely would enjoy checking out the North End, but you might want to go there after the game for Cappuccino and pastry (and then a nice walk down the Harbor which is nearby) if you want to see any of Boston. I would also recommend taking a Duck Tour which goes by land and sea and hits all the major Boston Landmarks, and a nice ride on the Charles. Lunch at Fanueil Hall is great! I'm just not sure how you can do it all if it's only one day, and you definately don't want to be late for the game!
If you are staying over, then maybe you could save Fanuil Hall for the next day, or juggle things around depending on the weather. Hope you have a blast while here.

Parking is a bit tough in town. I'd recommend leaving your car at Fenway parking lot and hopping on the MBTA station - Kenmore - and head to North Station. That will bring you very close to the North End (Boston's Italian area). There are some great restaurants worth checking out:
Strega - upscale Italian - a hip vibe to the place too
Rabia's - moderately priced. Great red-sauce pastas, and they've recently opened a raw bar that's getting good reviews
Ricardo's - moderately priced, old-school Italian pastas and meat. I've been going there more and more lately. Just like the atmosphere as much as the food.
Fiore's - pricier, but great food, and awesome location. They have a roof deck that is a great place to kick back on a warm sunny day.
There's a really cool cafe - Vittoria's - right on Hanover St - worth heading to after your meal and grabbing an excellent capucino and people watching.
There are quite a few pubs and bars on your way back to North Station, it may be worth popping in for a beer before heading off to the game that night.
Have fun!

The italian section of boston is the North End and East Boston. Santarpio's is one of the best pizza places around. Also make sure you go to Fenway

go to the italian neighborhood to eat, go to the old amrket place and stop in at Durgen Park for real food and real history too. and check out Cheers. then walk just walk around the back bay area is interesting but befoere you go read up on the big dig. Boston has so much to offer. and you could also visit some universities. and as you said check out the Sox.

I used to live in Boston. It's great. Go to Harvard Square - lots of stores and great restaurants. If you can go there at night, there are lots of street musicians and magicians doing their acts right in the square for free. Taking a boat ride on the Charles River is also a fun thing.
