A few days ago a mosquito bite on my upper arm turned in to what seems to be a rash. It's quarter sized. It's red, bumpy, and quite itchy. I have no idea what it is or if its even serious. Will it go away on its own? Any help would be appreciated...I just wanna know if it's serious....and if it is...what I can do about it. Thanks guys!

You are probably just having a severe reaction to this particular bite. If it doesn't go away after a week or two you can always get it checked out.

I think it might not be a mosquito bite at all. Sounds more like a spider bite. No need to go running off to the doctors (Christ almighty, I can't believe every little thing that people insist on rushing off to the doctors for!) unless it grows, gets more painful, swells further, etc. If it does, then go. If not, you, like a millions of other people, have a bite you're not tolerating well but will more than likely heal fine from. Again, IF it changes for the worse, do go see your doctor. Meantime, any anti-itching cream and an antihistamine tablet or two should help with the swelling and itching and irritation.

The rash may be from scratching. There is an ointment called Iverest. You use for rashes if you get poison ivy, it relieves the itching. It may not be a mosquito bite. But if it gets worse, you should probably consult a doctor.
