What ESPN has baseball commentators. Are you sure they don't work for the Yankees or Boston because that is all they care about. And the other day they actually called the Indians an excellent team, and I'm an Indians fan but theyre joking right. I mean that's a jump.

My biggest problem with ESPN commentary for baseball and other sports can be summarized by "the Chris Berman" syndrome. I love Berman and all, but since he came on the scene, every commentator feels it necessary to come up with their own slang and nicknames for everything that occurs. During recaps, I can hardly figure out what they are talking about half the time.
Morgan has been an embarrassment for a long time. I often wonder what game he's watching.

OMG you people have no idea... Any ESPN commentator is better than anyone Fox has.. Joe Buck and tim McCarver and freaking IDIOTS... as for ESPN.. I only like watching it when Jon and Joe do games- usually Sunday nights and sometimes on holidays. The other ESPN guys are terrible.. and when Chris Berman occasionally does a game is straight comedy....
ESPN baseball analysis has really gone down hill after HR left...

Joe Morgan has never gotten past the fact that he has retired and no one cares about the "Big Red Machine" anymore. He rarely gives a unique insight to the game he's calling. It's easy to call a game but offer nothing else. Jon Miller does that with the best of them. I can stand them both Its the combo of Joe Buck and Tim McCarver that gets me going...gggggggrrrrrrrrrr

Steve Philips. He is so biased it's not even funny! Totally dogs the Yankees any chance he gets and you'd think he was still on the Mets payroll. "Heeeellllloooooo, Stevie!. You were fired by the Mets because you were inadequate and inept. Show some hostility or, at the very least, use your brain and don't be so one-sided"

I can't stand listening to Joe Morgan and John Miller. Some teams have even worse announcers though
like Michael Kay for the Yankees.

There's a reason why "Fire Joe Morgan" is such a popular site.
Joe rarely says anything insightful, and openly admits to not watching many games. Is that really what anyone wants from an analyst? I guess I've always assumed watching games and learning things was part of the job description, but not for Little Joe.

Most definately. Both Jon Miller and Joe Morgan just ramble aimlessly. Joe Morgan gets worse and worse with his babble. You would have think Joe played for the Yankees the way he swoons over them every year too.

They are both bad in my opinion but they still not as bad as Joe Buck. He's a disgrace to real baseball announcers.

Joe Morgan at times refers to the Cincinnatti glory days a bit much, but I think he and Jon Miller have a good chemistry and do know about the game.
I wouldn't say they are my favorites, but they are clearly competent.
