At the door I am nice, but because I smile most of the time people have a difficult time believing I mean it when I say "No, thank-you."

On the telephone...I am on the do not call list AND my phone is unlisted. The first thing I want to know is "How did you get my number?" Not as nice on the phone. But I'm sure they can HEAR me smiling.

Edit: Shannon, you can add your cell phone to the national do not call registry.

Well if I get a solicited call, they have somehow come across my cell number, as I don't have a home phone. I'll tell them once either that it's my cell and i shouldnt be getting these calls, or that i'm not interested, and i always say please take me off your call list, and if they keep on with their gnat-like persistance, i just hang up. i want to feel sympathy for the people making these calls and getting hung up on all the time, but, hey, they chose the job.

I am polite. I sold door to door for over 20 years.

I'm nice and polite. That's IF I answer the phone, or the door, which I rarely do, unless I know who is calling. :)

I don't answer the door, I just open the blind enough that they can see one eye and I make it crazy looking and look around but never at them...then scream at the top of my lungs, that I can't go, I have too much to live for and that everyone is the DEVIL!

Solicitors dont prefer to stand too on the brink of my door besides. the super canines kinda preserve that. You shouldnt experience undesirable. I wouldnt. as quickly as advised no, or door close on them because of the fact somebody isnt intersted, it starts to grow to be harassment.

I'm polite until they call a second time or ring the doorbell a second time, then I get annoyed and am not so polite.

I used to be nice, but even with caller ID they don't identify themselves, I am no longer nice. If they cannot identify who they are; only " unnamed Caller" Unknown Caller" ,"Unidentified caller", "name unknown", "private number" ; then I no longer answer the phone. I only answer the door long enough to tell them to leave my property.

I point to my "no soliciting" sign and close the door.
