i bought two silver tipped sharks (columbian catfish) a few months ago and they are the most annoying fish ive ever owned, they constanly swim rapidly along the front of the aquarium in very random paths, just start off one way then switch direction and go another then back again, they N E V E R stop . all my other fish swim around nice and peacefull within there little environment but these guys seemed obsessed with trying to swim through the glass. why do they exibit this behaviour and will they "grow out of it" as they mature. it may seem odd that im so annoyed by them but they pretty much ruin the calm of the aquarium with there distrating and constant movements.

Probably not - these prefer strong water current, so if the water isn't moving as fast as they'd like, they move instead. They should also be kept in brackish water (at least as juveniles), them gradually moved up to saltwater as adults. And as the previous answer already said, they're schooling when young. I'd be very cautious about what you're keeping them with as well - they're predatory and they'll eat fish they can fit in their mouth.
