Charles Manson was a master manipulator. He orchestrated all of his crimes, yet he barely had to touch a finger.

He had everyone do everything for him. This makes him the most dangerous type of offender.

They used to live near my house, communally at a movie ranch. They didn't bother anyone, and no one that I'm aware of really thought much about it. My friends and I used to ride our bikes (and later motorcycles) near by. Doing so was no big deal to any of us, including our parents and neighbors, at the time.

The murders (to try and thwart the civil rights movement by blaming the deaths of white people on blacks - [read Helter Skelter...]) were shocking to my community. Still, people move in and out of the neighborhood, and developers continue to build and remodel homes on and near the property. I don't think that people put much thought into "location" as far as the Manson clan goes. Go figure...

I think that part of how we see Charles Manson and his communal group today is due to the infamous "celebrity" status they received in court and in jail, and in the justice systems' failure (for whatever reasons there may be) to rehabilitate criminals. From my perspective, why would someone bother to become rehabilitated when they will never be allowed to leave jail? It seems far better to retain the "freak" status they have obtained and remain at the top of the prison food chain than to be just a regular prisoner amongst the general population.

I'm not quite sure what you're looking for. Is there anyone out there "Pro-Manson"?
Charlie Manson is a pretty evil guy who convinced a lot of bad people to do some pretty heinous things. In a sense, he got off easily for his crimes.

charlie was 1 whacked out egotistical freak, he hurt many people who were innocents. that case kind of changed the 60s love scene for sure, living in LA and being in the "business" really hurt! charlie and his crew should have been given a hot shot or electrocuted, goodluck in your research
