My advise to you is to get rid of AVG antivirus as it is not really all that good.
Here is an excellent free antivirus program from AOL, Active Virus Shield powered by Kaspersky Lab of Russia. Rated # 1 in the world for virus detection. You will get auto updates every hour on the hour, plus an excellent background scanner that really works great. AOL, will only ask you for your email so they can send you a free key good for one year. After one year just request a new key.

For an excellent free antispyware program, download their free version of superantispyware. Will find what all other miss. http://www.superantispyware.com (Includes trojans & spyware with no conflict from your antivirus program.

you are most likely seeing the same threats because they are just "cookies." Try this, turn off "cookies" in your browser settings then run the spyware scan again. Delete the threats, and then run the scan a 2nd time after browsing the internet for a while with cookies disabled. If no threats come up on the 2nd scan, then what you are repeatedly seeing are cookies from the web sites that you frequently visit. Note: disabling cookies will cause some sites to not function properly, especially sites that require passwords. Cookies are not really major threats, but will be tagged as "spyware" by most anti-spyware programs.

Well, you can never be completely certain with freeware software that you have rid your computer of viruses or spyware. The best bet is to download an evaluation version of commercial software. Good ones to download are Kaspersky anti-virus and Webroot's Spysweeper. It's like going to a doctor for a second opinion when you are sick.....The freeware has gotten better over the years, but always good to get that second opinion.
Happy malware hunting!!!

The only way you can get rid of it is if you have an anti virus program that can scan and take the virus file and delete it or quarantine it. But since you dont want to download one.. if you change your mind AVAST.COM all the way.. And if you dont want to. im sorry to say but since you have a dell (as do i) i think you might have to reformat your computer... when your computer is starting up press F12 many times

Run a 2nd scan on your computer. If it does not find the virus on the 2nd scan then the virus is removed.
