I'm not sure what you mean by "spirit guides", but there are entities who will assist people in their lives. If you know how to listen for them, you will hear their suggestions. You can ask them questions and get answers. Remember that you are not bound by their suggestions though. Always use your best judgement. Besides the benevolent entities, there are also some that may not have your best interests at heart, so you have to think for yourself and make your own decisions.

Not everyone has the patience or interest in advice or guidance, but those who seek guidance will find it. Keep looking, just keep your wits about you and remember that you are dealing with the unknown.

I haven't read Sylvia Brown or even seen her on TV, so I can't really comment on her personally or how effective her techniques are.

Hi Azomb, This is a little off your subject, but I think you really need to get out of the house. You could volunteer one day a week and meet some cool people. Animal shelters are a great way to feel happy, and do good at the same time. They even have jobs such as- petting the kittens! When I had moved and was lonely, I volunteered at a kitchen for people with life threatening illnesses (hiv and cancer) and a senior center (and boy after helping people there- your problems seem way small!) Take a class, take walks, join something- anything that you will meet other people in a relaxed atmosphere! Okay? :) I believe in spirit guides, but you need to spend your time on this plane ultimately. They may be able to comfort you but you will also have to do some work in this world to feel better. good luck- i know how hard life can be sometimes.

Of course, I believe in them. I just don't understand why people connect others who hear voices with a mental decease, just like so many others in the world. Whoever is "out of the normal" has to have a label of what is wrong with them, and I hate that ... stop judging others! You could of probably heard your spirit guide that day, but some other people are right, it may have been a dream and you didn't realize it, or it could of been real ... maybe she was contacting you through a dream. Just be careful, whatever you do. I love watching Sylvia Brown, she's really interesting :) Good luck with everything!

I do not know much about sylvia brown other than she claims to be a psychic. As for the spirit guides, I would like to believe they are real. But believing in them is like believing in any faith/religion-it requires that you believe in it without any definitive proof. So if you believe in spirit guides, believe in them! You are no different then anyone else in the world who is religious.

I have experienced a lot of auditory hallucinations when going to sleep and waking up, I dont think its uncommon.
Spirit guides are created by our own minds and reinforced through coincidences.
No, there is no such thing as spirit guides.
Sylvia Browne is one of the biggest fakes in the psychic field.
Without making any opinionated statements about psychic abilities, hers are not real.
She, John Edwards, and a host of other people who perform psychic stuff, actually use classic con-man style techniques, which are easy to learn and implement.
If these people had the ability to prove thier psychic talent, they would in a moment, and the whole field of psychic research would become a legitimate study. A whole new branch of scientific research would open up. It would be big.
Because the techniques are fairly well know as hocus pocus, and slight of hand techniques for making one look psychic, they dont pay much attention to people like sylvia browne.
She preys on people who do not look critically at what she is saying and leave open the possiblity that she is some kind of super magical psychic woman who knows all.

Hello,Hello. In 1982, I met my Spirit Guide. His name is Dr. Chang. As a practising Spiritualist I became a Qualified Clairvoyant and Medium. I used to fall asleep, and Dr. Chang would "Come through" me and speak to people.Upon invitation, he spoke through me to a congregation of Christian Churchgoers. He spoke at length answering all their many questions.Later as I progressed, we became a team that "cleared" haunted houses. This we still do. Dr. Chang and my many Spirit helpers are there to assist but not to interfere. We have done this together for the last 25years.One day when it is right for you, you may find your guide, or she may find you.Good Luck!

yes i do. that's odd that you have heard the voice of a nice lady. over the years i've heard the voice of a lady and have also had dreams of that sort. i had a dream of three ladies in a white house. the woman that i was seeing at the time walked along side the house with me. i went in the house which was glistering white inside and the woman i was with didn't follow. i saw two of the ladies pass (not seeing their face) then one of the ladies turned to me and said, "she's lying to you..." i took it as a dream but didn't act right away instead observed the woman i was seeing. within a week i found out she was lying about something. i quit seeing her as much then within a few months i found out other things that were lies or misleading. if i have a similar type dream i will act on it. since then i've found more out of the nature of these ladies and who they are but that is between me and them.

i think the divine powers have good in mind for each of us but the decision to follow them is up to us... learning how to trust and understand them is a process...

Ah! At last, a sensible question on this topic.

Yes, spirit guides are definitely real. I have substantial, absolutely introvertible proof of their existence.

The best three are:

The Book of Gins and Vodkas: A Complete Guide by Bob Emmons (Hardcover - Sep 22, 1999)

Classic Brandy (Classic Drinks Series) by Nicholas Faith (Hardcover - Sep 2000) – Illustrated

Cognac: The Seductive Saga of the World's Most Coveted Spirit by Kyle Jarrard (Hardcover - Feb 18, 2005)

Sylvia Brown isn't the only one who talks about spirit guides. Yes, I believe they are real.

Sylvia Brown is psycho. Avoid her books like the plague.

Read "Beware the Night" By Ralph Sarchie. He's a police officer. Good stuff.

You can't just dial that radio at random. You never know what is on the other end. Many without proper discernment have invited in things they shouldn't.
