1. 99% of the time, the first period is liter than the others. Most periods last from 3-10 days. Don't worry If you have irregular periods the first few years.
2. Probably, since you're running around, all the lining is moving around and will come out faster.
3. You might never want to use tampons, or you might be comfertable with them by your second period. If you're uncomfertable with tampons, stick with pads untill you're ready.
4. Most women have cramps before their periods, caused by the uterus contracting to shed it's lining (your period). Not all women have them, though.
5. Motrin and Midol are two medications that do wonders for cramps. Yoga, exercise, tea, baths, and heating pads are life savers.
6. It depends on how long you'll be gone. For school, you'll probably only need two or three, but if you're going somewhere all day, you may need a few more. You should change them every 4-6 hours.
7. Yes, it does come out of your vagina. Every month or so, an egg comes out of an ovary, and waits in the uterous. A thick lining made of blood and protiens is formed for if the egg is fetalized by a sperm (caused by having sex) If it is, the lining mixes with the egg and the sperm, forming a baby. If not, the egg comes out with the lining, causing your period
8. Yes, very normal
9. Your periods will regulate after a couple years, but can be anywhere from 20 days to 40 days.

1. It depends
2. It might. It depends on the person.
3. Try them when you are comfortable with the idea.
4. It depends on each individual person. Some get really bad cramps before every period and others only get them sometimes.
5. Midol, the "child" yoga pose sometimes helps.
6. 2
7. Yes. Your vagina is next to the area where you pee. When you wipe you also wipe the opening to the vagina and the blood that is coming from it.
8. That's normal
9. a few years

It all depends on family. If your mom use to have a heavy flow u probably will too. I dont recommend tampons since all the blood doesnt come out as it should (kinda gross) but its easier using that instead of a pad while running or exercise. Cramps can happen ( be prepared, they can come pretty painful) pretty much any pain killer can control cramps. The blood comes from the vagina :) and it is normal the color thats appearing at first. You'll know how many pads to carry when the amount of flow settles. hope it helps!

Hi

1. It ranges but mostly 5 days
2. not if it's your first day
3. Don't know this one
4. Yes they can
5. Tylenol .. Tylenol also has come out with one for menstrual cramping, Midol
6. If your only going to be gone a couple of hours, 2 should be fine. If your at work ( summer job for 15 yr olds ), I would have at least 4 just in case. It's better to have more than not to have enough.
7. Yes it does. Your peeing is fine
8. Yes normal too
9. Your best bet is to record it on a calendar from month to month thus giving you a round about date of when to expect it for the following month.

Your welcome and if you need other answers, you can email me.

I just noticed this question...so I'm a little late, but all of your questions are good ones!!! I hope everyone has helped..The one question that I am interested in is the last one...#9
if this is your first one it can be quite unpredictable or not " on time" everyone is different so your period will take it's time to straighten out..good luck and one more tip..if the cramps get real bad try a heating pad that used to help me greatly!!

Sounds like your a little nervous, but don't be you'll be fine. If you have a softball game I would suggest using tampons, but if your not comfortable with that then use a pad. It sounds like you need to do a little reading about a womens menstrual cycle so you will better understand everything that is involved. WebMd is a good site to try. Everybody goes through the same questions so don't worry.
