Apart from the obvious that is, scoring more goals than their opponents. Let's face it, they didn't have that much quality on paper, and nobody really fancied them to win...but they did.

They won because we were the most organised side in the tournament and everybody, but everybody underestimated us. There were far better players at the tournament, but one good player doesn't make a team.
I watched the whole tournament on a little island in the Dodecanese and, my God, what a party there was after we won the final.
It was all worth it just to see Ronaldo cry - the big girl's blouse.

No, they won because they were the most fit. Fitness can overcome skill by just continuing to run the other team down and quick passing. Other examples of great runs through fitness: Korea WC 2002 and Australia 2006. There superior fitness got them farther than their talent as seen in there late game heroics, just like Greece. No it wasn't a fluke they busted there buts to put themselves into that position. They just were not willing to do it again.

in sports, in life everywhere, you shouldn't underestimate anyone!

To put it simply the teams expected to do well, France,Spain,Italy etc. did not live up to their status and Greece took advantage of their failure.I can't see them doing it again next year though,

They won all their games in the knock-out stage of the tourny.
To win a football match you need to kick the football (foot.ball)
into your opponents goal before the other team (Portugal) bribes the wangface ref and doesn't give england the goal.
