on aim someone told me they had hacked my computer. is this possible and if it is what will be the effect of it on my computer and can i fix it? any help would be wonderful thanks :)

would it count if i accidentally click direct connect , the picture sharing thing,? he didnt send me any pics and i xed the box out immediatly

If you had direct connect with him, he would be able to get your ip address, which means he can now target you.

Don't worry though, as long as you keep update with patches, use firewall, antivirus, he shouldn't be able to to do anything unless he is really really good.

This is assuming he doesn't trick you into running stuff, but this is more a social engineering trick than technical skill.

Your computer can't be hacked over the internet. This hacker would need your IP address to gain access to your PC online.

Not unless you let them send you some file or clicked on a link they gave you.
