I don't know any one including my sweet self that hasn't come across like this at one time or another. The best motive I can see would be someone who is open and giving in themselves...who trusts that the person they are getting something from feels the same way.maybe it could be chalked up to taking the other person for granted at a time when the other person is experiencing low energy...there is give and take among healthy people. Not always something to reciprocate immediately. Often no ill intent...the giver is likely to be the one with the unhealthy attitude if they are feeling that way....or:
someone believes either consciously or unconsciously that they are owed it or they need it more than the person who has it....or they feel it is a gift or they don't realize they have taken it.or they are feeling empty, are asking for help. They don't value themselves. They are arrogant. They could be immature. They may not know how to get it for themselves. They could be lazy. They could be testing. They could have ulterior motives. It could be an accuse for attention. It could be a ploy directed by misguided hurt.
why are interactions so difficult to discern.....imbalance!
communication is key.

Thank you for being honest Kermit. Everyone, including the previous folks who answered this question, would love to get something for nothing.
That doesn't mean that they wouldn't also enjoy a trade or giving something for nothing. Giving boosts serotonin levels more but receiving still gives it a boost.

A scavenger like my friend. Everytime when somebody brings out something delicious or tasty to eat, he always asks people for some which is quite selfish and greedy. The bad thing is he doesn't feel ashamed about it and he has a girlfriend but he will always be a scavenger who will always scavenge food and drink. It quite shameful really because he is rich!!!

People with heartbeats. People who breathe regularly. People with skin. People who regularly eat and/or wear clothing.
Seriously, who wouldn't want something for nothing. Unless the something was a punch in the face.
If I walked up to you in the street and said "here, have a plasma TV", would you say "no thanks, I don't want to accept something offered to me for no reason."
