I am trying to minimize my yahoo mess. window and I am unable to do so. I tried to go to preferences and then under general but there is nothing for me to do it under there either. PLease help. The screen stays very big. Any other ideas.

I think you are confusing minimize with restore down. My computer students make that mistake all the time. Minimize the (-) button is not the opposite of the Maximize button. When you press the minimize (-) button, the page will disappear down to the task bar. In order to make your page smaller, press the button in between the (-) and the (x) close button. It looks like 2 small squares, one on top of the other. When you do that, the screen will become smaller and then you can also drag it on the corners and make it as small or big as you prefer. If I'm not mistaken, you can resize it by hovering your mouse on the bottom right corner of the window. Your mouse will change to a diagonal line with arrows on each end. Click and drag to the new size.

There is no minimize. You close it and it lives in your system tray (next to your clock) so it can still run in the background.
