Don't get me started. I've been through too many stages to get into this too much but to put it simply, I grew up in the 80’s. (Neon paint splattered everything, parachute pants, hyper color clothes, Bum equipment, ocean pacific, checkered vans, Vuarnet sun glasses in horrid colors with reflective mirror lenses, plaid pants that had a really high waist and suspenders, floor length wool dress coats, sweater dresses, tapered pants, and tight rolled jeans) yuck! Ok I gotta stop, I’m making myself ill.
Oh, I also had spiked hair, to add insult to injury.

Preppy clothes in the early 80s, including blouses with Peter Pan collars, and golf "knickers" -- trousers cut off just below the knee, with a button closure. You wore knee socks or tights with them, and loafers or boat shoes. Argyle patterns were essential. Of course you also had to have a ribbon tied around your neck, and perfectly feathered hair!

I graduated high school in 1980, and I still have all three pairs of Angel Flight slacks and my four or five nylon disco shirts. Hideous beasts, all of them.
Oh, the shame.
Actually, I've held onto them for the kitsch value. Can never try them on again, though -- I'm far from a size 28 waist!

A pair of pumpkin orange polyester shorts from the '80s, I think, that I wear to annoy my sister and daughter. Usually accompanied with a Wheel of Fortune teeshirt I've had for 10 years or more.

That's my era too. I had a pair of bullet-hole jeans. I ripped all the holes apart. And those huge plastic earrings. And everything was neon.
You really would need to see the pics to understand now. I look back and cringe!
