She's 30 odd weeks pregnant and has to be put in the hospital for observation due to dilating sooner than she should be all that jazz. She was wondering because she doesn't want to be there for 24hrs bored off her bum etc. I was wondering if anyone else had done this. I personally don't see anything wrong with it.

Probably not but she should check with the hospitals rules on outside electronics. Some of their equipment is very sensitive and so they normally wouldn't allow that. She could try books and crosswords or even a puzzle.

I can't see a problem with it, i have a friend whom took a lap top to the hospital too and all was fine. I know of a couple other people too who did. If she is worried, she can always ask a nurse or staff at the hospital.

Every hospital is different so you have to check with there rules and regulations. I do not see any problem with it really unless it may interfere with their electronics maybe....

Of course she can!

My wife did - she worked from her laptop, played games, watched movies.

Hospitals don't care what you bring in, as long as it's legal, and doesn't interfere with what they are doing in some way.

I doubt it, it could interfere with the machines that are monitoring her. Usually they say no cell phones. the best way to really know it to ask the doctor.

I think it will be based on a case-by-case situation. it all depends on what her condition is and if her doctor and/or hospital allow this type activity
