I've been told to take ranitidine by my doctor, but I would prefer not to have to take another drug for the rest of my life. What are some effective natural remedies I could try?

Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here

The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.

I was amazed to find out that in less than 10 days, the symptoms of excess stomach acid and acid reflux that were driving me insane for so long, had dramatically decreased and my condition is still improving. https://tr.im/WithoutAcidReflux
I was prescribed Lansoprazole which was brilliant but after two years of aching joints, extreme muscle pain which the doc gave me cortisone jags for, with some research I discovered the drug Lansoprazole was causing these rare side effects but it was I who diagnosed it NOT my doctor, I came off the drug 2 months ago, changed my diet and discovered just eating an apple stops any acid reflux, I eat an apple before bed, brilliant no acid, any time I feel the slightest sign of reflux I simply eat an apple.
Apple juice is not that good nor is anything else I have tried including honey at stopping reflux.
Apple is a god send for keeping acid at bay, brilliant

Greasy and spicy foods actually have very little to do with it. Your stomach can take those quite well. Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. https://tr.im/CureYourAcidReflux

I have been suffering from painful acid reflux symptoms that doctors found difficult to diagnose. Needless to say, pills and antacids didn’t cure me and the relief was temporary and sometimes insignificant.Until I found the information on this site ( http://heartburnnomore-guide.blogspot.com ) it helped me in ways that I still cannot comprehend. My acid reflux symptoms are a thing of the past. It’s like I have never suffered from heartburn.

Check out a product called MISTICA and one called CORE GREENS. They are all natural, easy to take, taste good and actually work. Check out the website, they have lots of information. I had a Gastric Bypass operation in 2003 and since January 2007 I have been taking both. I no longer experience the acid reflux or heartburn and it has helped to soothe my digestion. My husband takes just the MISTICA and he doesn't pop Tums or Rolaids anymore.
I hope this helps you.

Buy a plant of alovera and mix it with on the blender with a little of water and take a cup of this mix every morning. It's not tasty but is wonderful for your acid reflux.
