Gooden.
Davis had health problems -- lacerated kidney, cancer the worst -- but that was just the universe being stupid at him.
Gooden made a lot of his own problems with bad choices.

I dont get the question. Neither one of them was a let down as far as a player. Gooden had and has problems, many problems with drugs and the law, but Eric the Red has had injury problems. Cant help that.
Eric is great!! Gooden I guess would win the rotten egg award.

Doc Gooden, for sure. He could have been the best pitcher in history.
Eric Davis would have been good, but not close to the best.

Doc by a landslide. He was a pitching triple crown winner and had a bright future until the drinking and drugs. Davis was just an above average player with some great tools. Those players are a dime a dozen in the MLB.

Doc Gooden because if he wasn't on crack the Mets would have won more than 1 world series in the 80's.

I'd have to say Doc due to the wasted talent!
He was unreal as a rookie and had oh so much potential on a very good but ageing baseball team.
Josh Hamilton (current player) would be the closest to Doc I'd say. Hopefully he can keep his deamons behind him!

Ryan Leaf is the poster newborn. stressful to think of yet human beings debated no count if the extra appropriate draft %. replaced into Ryan Leaf or ... Peyton Manning! Ha! yet another super bust replaced into Tony Mandarich -- have been given fairly some votes for the Heisman Trophy as an offensive address, taken intense with the aid of the Packers -- and became out he not basically replaced into he not wonderful, he in simple terms could not play the region in any respect on the professional point.
