If it feels like the movies came like someone broke a dam and all the water came out explosively, it's mainly because all these ideas were waiting for a bunch of legalities to be resolved between Marvel and Hollywood in the late 80's-early 90's. They'd have come sooner without the lawsuits and stuff. But it may have been detrimental if that had happened, because our heroes are greatly benefitting from the great F/X available now.
I look forward to more Spidey, Batman, and crossovers (i.e. Superman vs. Batman).

Yes. Now that computer graphics are coming into their own it is possible to realistically portray the actions of Marvel superheroes, and that is a good thing.
As a consumate Marvel comic fan, and who has waited forty years (40 years) to see the Silver Surfer portrayed realistically on the big screen, I hope there are dozen more Marvel comic book heroes portrayed.
HULK I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X
DAREDEVIL ditto
FANTASTIC FOUR ditto
DR. STRANGE ditto
IRON MAN ditto
AVENGERS ditto
Just keep them coming for the next twenty years - oh yeah!

There is a whole lot more interest in these kinds of movies nowadays. I love em myself, i grew up with alot of the characters but back then they wouldn't have made such great movies-now they totally rock because of all the high tech stuff they can do with movies.
If the first couple of newer comic book movies would have tanked-there is no way they'd continue to make them, but the fans have showed great support & they'll continue to make them while support grows.

It's not just you. Marvel signed a deal to have either 3 or 6 (can't remember) movies per year for the next 5 years! So we're gonna see many more, if we want ;-)
