When we have direct access to our minds? Of course, once we believe in anything we can achieve it, despite all odds. Right out there in the physical world. But the starting point, the believing point which is in our core, why is that so hard to tame? Your thoughts on this?

I am not talking about honesty or religion: I AM TALKING ABOUT SELF-FULFILMENT.

I have had to do alot of brain work on this one! The believing point is so hard to tame because it meant I didn't fully believe what I thought or believed was true. That got to "Well do I believe I what I think is right and true to myself" about whatever issue! If the answer is yes then what is my problem? Having to accept that believing completely in myself was the core and for me was a real show stopper! In other words until I have complete conviction that I believe in myself I can't truely believe in anything else.

I don't believe that if we try our hardest we can achieve anything - I believe that most of the time that is true but not all of the time. Things can happen to stop even the best efforts. I will say that MOST of the time yes, too much of a realist to believe ALL of the time. I've lived long enough and saw enough to know that merely "believing" is not always enough.

Over all though - when speaking of believing in general - I think it to go hand in hand with faith. (and I'm NOT talking religion here - I'm talking about belief and believing in ANYthing) They are subtly different and one is needed to achieve the other.

It's hard to achieve sometimes because our brain and common sense would tell us otherwise - that's when faith has to step in.

It's important to remember that part of having self-fulfillment is being able to accept defeat when it may happen and have peace with it and move forward anyway...that may be the biggest test of all.

Because we are afraid - afraid of what will happen once we do take the plunge and believe. In one word: failure.

What's important is that when you do believe, you aren't a wimp in going about it. Belief counts for nothing until you make it 100%. After that, it's time to take your belief to the next level by doing the things that will make your goals a reality.

Believing is the hardest aspect of any practice because it involves the psyche of the individual.

Remember the adage: "first the body then the mind."

You can do almost anything with your body because it is purely physical. However in terms of the mind, believing involves coaxing, because when you believe in something (no matter how ridiculous it may be) your heart, soul, and ambitions, are encrypted in that object.

Your hope and trust are encrypted in that object.

When you believe in something you have faith in it- and that transgresses any physical activity, because to believe one must muster almost all of one's emotional, mental, and psychological strength.

Because that means accepting responsibility for making things happen (or not happen) and not waiting for someone else to do it for you. It's a very mature stance, and the earlier you learn that in life, the better off you will be.
