My partner and I got a little too carried away while on holiday and ended up having sex just before the last day of my period. Which means i was almost finished anyway, so only spotting was visible. He did ejaculate inside me, but i have been told that fertility is low at this time of the menstruation cycle. I have no reason to think i am pregnant as i have had no symptons as of yet, but the paranoia of pregnancy lurks in my mind. My next period is due by the end of this month, say around the 28th. So although it is still early stages for me, is it possible that i could be or not? I will just have to wait and see and let you all know of my progress.

Thank you everybody for your answers, i guess it's still a question of yes or no, but there are more yes answers than no answers. Which makes it so difficult to believe if i could possibly be pregnant or not and its even more difficult to choose a best answer too, but i appreciate every answer! I am seeing my doctor on Friday as i have now began to feel period cramps even though my period is not due yet.

Yes you can get pregnant. If it has been less than 72 hour since "the act". You may want to talk to your Dr or a pharmacist about "plan B". If you are over 18 you do not need an RX from a DR. While not recommended as a primary form of birth control, having Plan B on hand if you have an accident (broken condom) is not a bad idea.

Yes you can get pregnant while on your period. You can always get pregnant. The only way to be 99.9% sure you won't is to be on the pill and take it as directed. You may be able to take an early detection test before your 1st missed period. Check out the boxes in the drug store. If you are the sooner you know the better so you have time to make an educated decision. If you are scared and can't talk to your parents go to planned parenthood.

Yes it could happen, but in most cases it's about 2 week after your period the you are most likely to conceive. If you still are not sure you can get a pregnancy test to be 100% possitive they can detect as soon as 3 to 5 days. I will check with the box to see which one is the most effective. Good luck...

It may be low but that doesn't mean you can't get pregnant. Even women at the beginning and mid cycle have been known to get pregnant. There may be no symptoms within the first month or even into the second month of pregnancy.
I would keep tabs on it through home tests and then with your doctor. Even tests at the doctors office aren't conclusive on the first test.

It's unlikely, but possible. Ovulation (when the egg is released from the ovary) can be difficult to predict because your menstrual cycle doesn't necessarily run like clockwork from month to month. If your cycle is shorter than usual, or if you bleed for extra days, you may ovulate during or shortly after your period. If the release of the egg (which can live for one to three days) coincides with the lingering live sperm (which can live in your body for five to seven days after unprotected sex), you can conceive. The bottom line: If you are not using contraception, it's a crapshoot.

If you have sex you could be pregnant. It is not likely to happen during your period, but there are a lot of babies born to moms who got pregnant during their periods. Take a pregnancy test if your period is late and try birth control.
