first multiply through

-2(a+3b) + 4(2a-3b) = -2a -6b + 8a - 12b

collect terms

-2a + 8a - 6b - 12b

6a - 18b

both coefficients are divisible by 6 so we can factor it out

6(a-3b)

And that's as far as you can go.

30)

multiply through (for this question that just means multiplying the last term by -1)

6y - 2 + 7y + 3 - 2y + 6

collect terms

6y + 7y - 2y - 2 + 3 + 6

11y + 7

which is as far as you can go.

30) 6y-2+7y+3-2y+6=11y+7

We use the fact the opening the brackets with - sign before it gives us negative of the inside components, while plus can just eliminate withouth changing signs.
