Bush's plan all along was to NEVER leave.

Remember the "peace dividend" that we expected after the Cold War ended? The military-industrial complex decided not to distribute that dividend. Instead we got Bush War I (the Panama invasion), Bush War II (the war to recover the Emir of Kuwait's gold toilet), Clinton War I (the Haiti invasion, thwarted by Carter), Clinton War II (the bombardment of Yugoslavia), and Bush War II (the Pre-emptive War against Non-Existent WMD'S). Be prepared for Clinton War III or Thompson War I.

If you want to collect the peace dividend, vote for Ron Paul or Barak Obama.

Because you have to make sure it doesn't all come tumbling down on top of you while you're sneaking out of the mess you have made. I have often wondered if we are headed for another scene like the fall of Saigon in Iraq with everyone running for helicopters on the rooftop of one of Hussein's palaces. Insurgents. terrorists and radicals chasing close behind. The Bush administration just cannot seem to face the reality that even a 5th grader could understand. This is the fact that you cannot force democracy on a people if they don't want it and you cannot kill every terrorists in the world.

Actually, the invasion had been planned way before 9-11, so you can't say they didn't plan it long enough. However, the reason they are taking long to get out is because they never planned to get out in the first place. If US forces were to leave, the primary objective of securing oil wells would have been lost. So, that's why they don't want to leave - before the OIL is flowing without disruption.

The US wants a permanent base in Iraq. Planning on how to bs the American people some more takes time. Maybe if it just keeps going on, people might, you know, forget about it???

How long did it take for us to defeat Hitler militarily? And how long did it take for us to establish the peace in Germany?

Peace takes a very long time to establish because you may not have killed or taken prisoner all those who were in military combat.

Also, there is a tremendous amount of continued support from outside sources, namely Iran.

Further, this is a terrorist war. How do you recognize the terrorist when he is sitting right next to you and walking the streets freely?

If you want all military and terrorist activity to stop, then we should simply nuke the whole region. Guaranteed to kill all combatants and terrorists. Prove me wrong on that one.

Oh and please note that I do not condone the use of the nukes, but we should have not been as careful about civilian casualties as we were. We should have wiped them all out very quickly. War is war after all.

In truth the Project for a New American Century (scum...Bush people) planned the invasion of Iraq for years....but we're not supposed to know or talk about that...they were just looking for any flimsy excuse to grab the Iraqi oil and control future markets.

It is easier to invade and crush the enemy you see than fight partisans and militias.

Believe me, if it was for the best interest of the country we would have our sons and brothers back here long time ago.

Besides, no one can possibly know what it took to plan the invasion. I am sure it took a long time to get ready, not just a phone call

It's hypocritical of libs to complain that our going into Iraq was unplanned and rash then, turn around and insist that we act without forethought when pulling out. It's just not the way the world works. (sorry)
