I live in California and want to know how much it would cost me to ship with insurancer. Thanks.................

depends on who you use. Postal and courier rates vary so call them for quotes.

I've worked in the shipping business a few years, and shipping companies have limits to how much you can insure an item for.
I believe that Fedex might be the one that you should try shipping with. You can go onto their website and see what the rates and the limits are.
I have also found them to be the best shippers for security reasons also. You do NOT have to claim the item or the amount insured on the shipping invoice, and you can require a signature at the receiver's end.

If you ship it regular snail mail you can only insure it for $500.

I'd think you'd want to insure it for more than twice the amount it's worth.

Don't send via USPS. But do send via premium shipper. Ask them about their policies and see if you need a current appraisal for it to be valid.

pay additional insurance with ur shipper. call fed ex and ask whats best to do.
