Why do woman think they can change men?

a lot of woman attracted to bad boys and they think they can change them. But it almost never happens. and the nice guys who will treat you good end up alone

I have never once tried to change a woman but every woman I have been with has tried to change me. I am a nice bad boy though LOL

(rolling eyes) This is a subject I unfortunately know too much about. When I was in my 20's I had a real thing for bad boys and thought I could somehow *change them* and women just have to realize it. will. never. happen. I was also dating a nice guy at the time and thought he was *boring* but now I see him as being kind and dependable. The lesson I learned from all of this? You can NEVER change ANYONE (unless they want to be changed) I think a lot of women who try to change or reform bad boys have some sort of maternal instinct, like, "Now, be a good boy" sort of thing. Give it up, women, the die is cast. It will never happen. I also think some women find it a big challenge to change a man. But I have had men who have tried to change ME and I did not appreciate it. One boyfriend wanted me to be his ideal- a surfer girl- and bought me clothes I would never in a million years wear. I'm me, and if someone doesn't like it, well, that's their problem. (Haha, you're a *nice* bad boy, lol RIGHT! :- D)

Thats a great question, and since I've always been attracted to bad boys for the most part then I can say I never really intended to change them. But you find yourself in love with the wild side first, then when things get a little more serious and the excitement goes away, you start seeing the real side of this person. That's when you start wondering why you fell in love with them to begin with and you start asking them to change little things they say or do. Subconsciously I think in your mind you think if they change into a better person then you still kinda got that bad boy but in a better version. The last bad boy I met, I married and I have found that instead of telling him what he should or shouldn't do, I just simply ask why he does what he does, and does he think there might be a better way, but I don't expect him to change for me. He does the same to me, he'll question what I do and give his input but doesn't necessarily try to change me in order to meet his standards. I wish you lots of luck in finding a girl who loves you for who you are.

A lot of women do try to change men, and a lot of men try to change women. The best lesson to learn is that you can't change anyone. If you want to be with someone, you have to accept that person as (s)he is.

My guess is and from experience only is that we need to stop thinking with our little head / hearts and go with first gut feelings. But as you would know you can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink ;-)
I also think they may do this for a spur of the moment, rush or something totally off the wall for them. A change in their everyday normal, boring life to them.
Only a guess as was for me in my years of growing up.

Why do men think they can change women?

Its okay to change something such as:

Not listening to people
Being more sensitive
Taking better care of your appearance
Being more responsible
Annoying habits/tendencies

But for the most part, people shouldn't have to change too much.

They don't have enough self-confidence to wait for the right person. They'll take the first thing that shows ANY interest in them so they feel secure, then try to make them into the guy they wanted to begin with.

They do not realize trying to change a man results in them being changed and lessens desire for both. When I like somone how they are when we meet, that's what I want unchanged: their best & their flaws which we all have.

I don't think i can change a man! In fact i wouldn't want to! If i fall in love with a guy, then most likely i fell in love with who he is, not what i want him to be!
