This is a hard one.
At first selfishly, I would want to hound them out away from my street and kids. Which I guess would go against Sarah's Law, which I am all for.
Sensibly, I would make everyone aware, and let the paedophile know that everyone is watching him. The trouble with hounding them out, they could simply move and get 'lost' in the housing system and nobody knows where they are.
Quite often we are living very close to these type of beasts, I guess its best to know where they are. I may hound him out, but the paedophile who lives 2 streets from me would be unknown.

Depends - most likely, nothing. I would make sure my children new who he was and to stay far away from him, but other than what can you do.
Shoot - you want to keep your kids "away" from every pedo in the world then you better not even bother to take them to church -- look how many fiddler are hiding behing the cloth!

Invite him over for tea and swimming with your children......COME ON MAN DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PAEDOPHILES LIVE IN AMERICA??? Just don't be an idiot and make sure your children use the buddy system or whatever. And also remember that some "paedophiles" are wrongfully acused like when a girl goes out and says someone raped her when she pulled down the guys pants!

I would make the neighbor's aware of who he is and what his crime is, to assure all the children are aware and their safetly is a priority.
I believe it is our rights as a society to know who the pedaphiles to assure our children are secure in their home, yard, neighborhood.
However, I would not protest against him living in the neighborhood. I would spend my time monitoring him and making sure he is not violating his probation/parole or is not around children.

I don't know, it would blow my mind. I have a little boy and I would be very concerned about that. I would not be happy and if he came near my son I would kill him.
Good question as it's very probable we all live by a paedophile and don't know it!

We had one in our village, he was a local councillor and once it was "outed" all the kids threw eggs at his house and taunted him. Apparently he was found with three Grade A child porn pictures. YUK. Not really much you can do but watch your children like a hawk.

It really doesn't matter where someone lives in my opinion. People with children should protect them all of the time---regardless of who is living on their street.
You can't assume your children are not in danger just because you don't KNOW of a danger.

I would report them, and I would keep my family far away from them. If they ever make any inapropriate move toward my daughter, I would make them wish they were never born.
