Stupid people will always believe in stupid things. Like the moon landings being faked, that 9/11 was master minded by Donald Rumsfeld and that JFK was actually shot by his own driver with the gun painted out by ILM... People like a good yarn. After all aren´t movies just basically lies? Telling stories that never happened? Yet we go to the movies and watch Spiderman duke it out with a block of sand. We like to be entertained. Some people just like to be entertained by spreading manure over one of humanity's finest achievement. The Apollo missions to the moon. Sad really.

There is a psychological need for humans to have conspiracy theories. There are far more conspiracy theories present throughout history than humankind would ever have had the resources to accomplish if they were true, to the point of more than the entire GNP of the entire world being needed to sustain all these conspiracies!
Psychologically, a reasonable theory would be that all people have some primary narcissism, or the need to not only be the center of attention, but to be thought of a special or unique. For many, conspiracy theories fulfill this primitive and unsophisticated need, because they are "in the know," and "they" are trying to suppress "my special knowledge."
To my knowledge, though, there have been and probably never will be a good psychological study on conspiracy theorists, because they would refuse any of this kind of research.

Conspiracy theorists are just that--theorists. However, conspiracy factualists are the people who provide documentation, whistleblowing evidence and corroboration. This is where I fall in. According to Dr. Anders above me, he believes movies are just that, movies. The best fictional movie I ever saw was the Apollo 11 theatrics played out for the world. And yes, JFK was shot with a pneumatic pistol that was shown to the House Select Committee on Assassinations by none other than former CIA director William Colby. Please, keep an open mind when looking at the hard facts. Be wary of people who ridicule because they are afraid to look, such as Dr. Anders.

Because 1/4 of all Americans are retarded!
See, Cartman... there are four of us, and you are retarded... so, yea, definitely 1/4.
But seriously... many people (in this case, the retards) would rather believe any crackpot conspiracy theory rather than what actually happened, has been documented, and built on since that day.
So who is responsible for the 9/11 attacks? A bunch of pissed off Muslims.

The so called "faked moon landings" will never be let go by radical conspiracy theorists. Numerous explanations have been given for the different phenomena cited by the CTs, flag blowing, converging shadows, no visible stars, etc., but they continue to refuse to believe. It's human nature. After all, billions still believe that the universe was created in a week and that Jesus was the son of god.

People love conspiracy theories for the same reason they love religions. They always want there to be more. Taking life like it is can be boring, and with an intelligent species like us, we are constantly looking for more.
