The emperors new clothes should have been required reading to see how Bush and his cronies are stealing us blind as the line their pockets. Bush has Used Joe McCarthy's methods and tactics to keep his policies going forward. Hating people is no excuse for the destroying of the american reputation around the world. HATE BREEDS HATE we should have learned that from Joe Marthy

First things First Let's put the facts on the table:

Pres. Always a Republican, Bush a Businessman and former Governor of Texas before elected President of the UNITED STATES.
McCarthy started out as a Democrat and switched. He was an attorney and Judge had life long aspirations of being a politician and was elected Senator. He was President of His Law Class

Pres. Bush is quiet, very personal and being a public spreaker is not his strong suit.
McCarthy was very out spoken and described as Boisterous and Gregarious.

Pres. Bush is a devoted Christian, Husband and Father operating on a moral center.
Mc McCarthy an alcoholic with one preoccupation... Communism, died of Hepatitis complicated but Liver Disease brought on by his excessive drinking. Leaving his wife and adopted daughter at the age of 48.

Pres. Bush is defending our Freedoms and the Constitution, while fighting a war. He is using all the legal means he can to pursue those that mean us harm, those folks that hate our value for the laws and morality.
Mr. McCarthy thinking he was defending our freedom, created a paranoia based on his whims. He prosecuted law-abiding citizens for simply looking at or associating with others in a sharing new ideas or checking out old ones. He ruined the lives of 1000's of people with little to no regard for the constitution.

Lastly Pres. Bush is standing by his ideals and principles at great cost to his popularity (93% after 9/11). Doing what he believes to be right against the winds of criticism.
Mr. McCarthy was sentured by the US Senate On September 27 1954, a Senate Committee released a unanimous report calling McCarthy’s behavior as a committee chairman "inexcusable," "reprehensible," "vulgar and insulting." On December 2, 1954, the full Senate, by a vote of 67-22, passed a resolution condemning McCarthy for abusing his power as a senator.

So after a brief review of the facts… I'd have to say Pres. Bush in NO way resembles Senator McCarthy.

Oh by the way Halliburton gained those contracts mostly by default; because, Clinton dismantled our Military intelligence and logistics. The people that knew the jobs (mostly the intelligence and logistics officers that were in the Gulf War) went mostly too two Companies… Halliburton and Enron. Cheney’s involvement with Halliburton is merely a coincidence… Would you prefer Enron’s leadership running things?

Don’t let your emotions cloud the facts my friend. FREEDOM ISNT FREE!

Obviously you do not know anything about History, did you read that on Moveon.org today? There are no similarities at all...but if you want to know the truth...McCarthy was right about some of his assertions...there were some Communists...he just wasn't right about the number...doesn't Hillary and Michael Moore have Haliburton stocks?

Yes both men are hated by the left, both men are lied about, both men promote freedom over dictatorships, both men are and were right. There were communists working in the US government in the 1950's and there are terrorists who want to kill Americans now. As to Haliburton, that little piece of leftist dogma has nothing to do with your question, but I'm sure it lets everyone of your fellow travelers know all about you.

There do seem to be some similarities. Including the Bush supporters seeing a traitor under every rock as taligunner Joe saw Commies under every rock. They're all nuts.

Well....they are both white males who are politicians, so I suppose that makes them exactly the same.

You can take any two people in the world and find similarities between the two of them.
