I'd probably say Kaka is the best in the world at the moment. He seems to be the best player at this moment or Ronaldinho. People say C Ronaldo is the best but if you look at how he's performed against teams like Chelsea and especially AC Milan, he's not as great as he is. Ronaldo is a great player no doubt, but he cannot perform at the same level against big teams like Chelsea, such as when Ashley Cole kept him quiet all night one and when Gattuso prevented him from doing anything on the left. He had to move back in central to have an effect.
Kaka can perform though against big teams and the same for Ronaldinho.

Look at all the different answers for the current "best player", that shows there is no best player now. People are just picking their favorites. Thats understandable because football has changed so much now that it's not about showcasing individual players anymore, but all about tactics and teamwork. You could see that in last year's world cup, and it turned out to be the least entertaining world cup by far, some teams being the exceptions. I don't know if anybody remembers, but last year's world cup was referred to as "the coaches world cup".

kaka because i have never seen anyone run as fast with the ball like he does and he was the only one to perform for brazil in the world cup for me. I think he was the best player in the world cup and he is also class for milan in the league and in earope he was the top screr in the champions league beating ronaldinho by a mile and c.ronaldo.

Kaka - not as selfish as C.Ronaldo. But if Ronaldo learns how to play footie as a TEAM game, then its him all the way.
