It is being reported that Sherri Martel did not die of natural causes, and the case is still under investigation by law enforcement. Meltzer said the police were in abundance at Martel’s mother’s residence in Alabama where the WWE hall of famer was found dead Friday morning.

As a result of Martel’s death, WWE did discuss, in meetings, the possibility of dropping the Mr. McMahon “death” story line.

I wonder what happened and do you think WWE will really drop the McMahon death angle as a result of this?

IF they drop that particular story line they'll lose all ground on the "making it real" angle. it's like a huge issue as to whether or not to drop it but it seems quite rediculous to continue a sharade when everyone but those under the age of five knows it's fake. It's all about money with the industry anymore and it is beginning to stink. While the death of Martel is tragic, it's making the death angle on WWE look even more suspiciously fake. If the WWE wants things to look real they should do a total 180 and go back to just matches instead of the drama between each one. It just seems lame and stupid while focus should really be focused on a real death, not a fake one made up for extra publicity.

First of all, I'm a longtime WWE fan, but the fact that they are putting a "fake" death with so much, and so little when a Hall of Famer" passes away legitimately. It just shows the lack of class that McMahon shows sometimes in the storylines he approves.. If she hadn't died, this would have proved interesting, but the timing is horrible and devoid of class even by their standards.
I've heard that they're looking at this like a legit homicide (Sherris) and until this is resolved, the WWE needs to look at ending the storyline. It sucks that they have to end it... But in respect to someone who they claim to respect so much, it would be a travesty to not end it..
I am certain though it won't end, but if it does it will be sudden with the crowd doing a group "WTF"

They should not end this storyline! people pass away. It happens. With the former wrestler mortality rate they must have had a clue that someone might die in real life while they were playing this angle out. I can't say for sure, of course, but I would bet that the sensational one would not have wanted any wrestling angle to be dropped because of her demise. Art transcends mortality. The "Crow" was still released even though Brandon Lee died while making it. "Twilight Zone: The Movie" was released even though three actors died while making it(and two of them were children). People are always going to die. I think as something that is universally going to happen to everyone eventually we should all be able to make light of it. To quote The Dead Milkmen: "Death's all right with me. How funny it can be".

Supposedly Sherri Martel was involved with Kevin Sullivan, who was the ex-husband of Nancy Benoit.

I think they should, I mean was it that hard for Vince to say "everyone tonight I am retiring!!!!!!" I heard he did this to turn face but, he should have done it another way!!!!! As for Sherri, I don't know maybe it could have been pills like Elizabeth took!!!!!! Or Vince did it(just kidding)!!!!!!!

That's real sad news to hear a real death occur during their storyline. Maybe they can be more sensitive about these things.
