I think I know what you mean...darkish purple background, with color specified white, and even so, the color doesn't LOOK white? And you're griping? Yep! Sometimes, and yep, often, it's yer tired ol' eyeballs. And sometimes too, it's the particular monitor. Go look at a pard's monitor. It may look crisp and clear white. Try the print BOLD and BIG and maybe some fat print size like TAHOMA. Then you may see white.

If that's not it, then...

Look into unsuspected "inheritance" problems in your CSS. First, make a copy of your CSS file, of course. Then, I often have my best luck clearing wide "swaths" of CSS code, adding a nugget at a time - just a nugget TOWARD THE TARGET TEXT STRING - like, if your intended white text is in a paragraph at the top of the page, then add ONLY, say, the CSS statements for BODY and P and any DIV between - anything required to get the colors, then add stuff until you get the problem... and find out where you went wrong!

Good luck!

Your HTML for the colours should read as follows:

If it doesn't see why not.

Make sure you haven't got any other HTML to do with colour that may confuse it earlier or later on. If you have it will become confused and not work properly.

Hope this helps a bit.

Not enough information. If you supply a URL to the html and css code I'm sure someone could advise you.
