That you never have to chastise or remind a Republican about having Respect for the President ?

That you never have to tell a Republican to support our troops ?

That you've never had to remind or inform a Republican about the dangers of Radical Islam ?

That you've never had to admonish a Republican for espousing hatred for our own country ?

I could go on , but let's stop there and reflect . This may appear to be just taunting of the Democrats , but I assure you it's not . In reality , I've asked this question to myself many times and I'd really like you to address this obvious difference .

I'm looking for Honest answers . Why is it you've never had to do the aforementioned and (take your time) what does that mean to you ?

After you give this complete and honest thought , we will gladly welcome you to the Republican Party .

THIS IS CRAZY. . . . Every one of you knows full well that Conservative Republicans have had to constantly remind you of the above . Maybe not you personally , but don't play games and act as if you're the pillars of American Citizenship and Patriots to boot .
And don't play games acting as if you haven't seen us remind your ilk every single day on Answers .

Wow! You really got under the skin of a bunch of liberals. One of the libs said he never heard a democrat who did not support the troops--lol. Murtha: called our troops murderers, Kerry: called our troops stupid and baby killers, Durbin: compared our troops to Nazis---but I'm sure they all meant no disrespect.

This is the first question posted where I absolutely could not read all the answers. And Liberal Democrats say Conservatives are mind numbed robots? Stepford Democrats!

Respect for the president? This has been the most embarrassingly disrespectful bunch of politicians I have ever seen. This makes Nixon and Clinton look like they were handled with kids gloves. And they both desrved their criticism!

Support the troops? Democrat Leaders have invested their political careers in our defeat in Iraq. Support the troops? Reid? Pelosi? Murtha? Please.

Hate America? Go to any university and see how much love there is for this country. You'll feel the love as they show you the door.

Your question proves: It's sometimes better to ask a question, and just get out of the way. Let 'em talk.

Well there is an honest, logical and intelligent answer to this question. And it involves the philosophy of each party.

Democrats for the most part are liberal. As liberals, democrats believe that the American public is not capable to take care of itself. Government is the only way that anyone will be happy. They believe that man, as a species is evil and once again, government has to maintain order.

Republicans, at least the conservative ones, have a much different philosophy. They believe that citizens are very much capable to take care of themselves. They believe in the rugged individualism that made this country what it is today. They believe that government prevents that individualism. And finally, they believe that man is good and can learn from mistakes of the past.

When you understand the realities of what makes a democrat and a republican, then you can understand why democrats never ask those questions of republican, at least the conservative republicans.

Please note, however, McCain is registered as a republican, but he is no conservative at all and fits better with democrats.

Never bothered trying to tell a Republican to respect the president or support the troops or the dangers of Radical Islam. It's hard to have a debate on any of those topics with a Republican because they are always right even when they are not. I don't even bother trying. Republican can respect a president who lies to get into a war but are OK with bringing sexual issues to cause a president to be impeached.

As far as Y/A, I can only assume that cons (and they outnumber liberals on here) are all living in the suburbs, ignoring what is going on in the real world. That's your honest answer.

I'd rather die a horrible death than become a Republican.

I admonish Bush supporters all the time that an assault on the Constitution IS an assault on the United States of America. Foreign terrorists, all identified as Al Qaeda operatives, attack and fell the World Trade Center - and the Republican response is to suspect AMERICANS of seeking to perpetrate further harm, hence their Patriot Act.

Or how about these same foreign terrorists all with known countries of origin other than Iraq - and this Republican administration falsifies intelligence to effect a war on Iraq, eviscerating American financial wherewithal and ENCOURAGING the fomentation of radical Islam.

Then there's the Republican cabal that refused to accept Bill Clinton as President and sought all means including impeachment to nullify the election not once but twice of the man who would be elected tomorrow in a heartbeat if he could run again. Consider them chastised and reminded of "Respect [sic] for the President"

I could go on, but let's stop there and reflect. Assurances or not, you are merely trolling. In reality, you asking yourself this question many times indicates a profound lack of critical thinking ability - your alleged PhD notwithstanding.

There, you have your Honest [sic] answer. Now how about some honest contrition from you.

Screw you and your high horse.

[added] You think "this is crazy"? Have you no decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?

That's because those statements are Republican political ammunition.

The Democrats use:
Global warming.
Anti-Bush because he's upping the terrorist recruitment rates by invading things and such.
Be humanistic because illegals are people too.
And... well, energy reform is kinda up there with Global warming.

Both sides can't use the same ammunition, otherwise there'd have to be actual discussion about things. Someone asks a question about Iraq, Dems go energy legislation whilst Repubs go terrorism. Both are somewhat correct, yet nothing will ever get done.
I'd rather have more than one party. Then at least there's someone to disagree with, my neck would get too tired from nodding so much. Got to work the horizontal as well as the vertical yo!

All I can say is WOW! What a "spirited" debate.

Lots of food for thought in your original point, agree or disagree.

My problem is people saying "Bush is a liar," "Bush is Hitler," "we went to war for oil," "US troops use torture," etc, who then turn around and act oh so offended when people question their patriotism! Don't dish it out if you can't take it. Who took this discourse down the toilet to begin with? Some sincerely believe the quotes I set forth above (not me). And some also sincerely do question the motives of those saying those things. Again, don't make the statement if you don't want to hear a response, I say.

I had to answer some of them differently a long time ago. When I was in grade school I went with some friends to protest the Vietnam War and what I saw happen at it and by the Federal Building to soldiers in uniform walking out ot it I had to question if I was respecting them. I decided I wasn't and I vowed to never do that again knowing my grandfather's service and work after wards for veterans. I also after I was involve in working on the Carter 1976 presidential campaign felt I was doing it because I did not respect Ford but after 1 year of the Carter administration I realized the mistake I had made and vowed to work harder the next election to defeat Carter.

"Why is it you've never had to do the aforementioned and (take your time) what does that mean to you ?"

I think its funny that all of your things are defenses against others. I'm not a democrat, proud of that fact, but everything you list is things Republicans never have to defend themselves from answering. The simple answer to your question is that Republicans attack Democrats while democrats lay off Republicans. This probably isn't right, so lets actually put some thought into it.

Republicans, or at least your characatured version of them, respect the President, the troops, and the country. And they are aware of the dangers of radical Islam. This would mean, pretty simply, that Republicans attack people on those criteria. Democrats, not innocent, probably admonish and attack republicans on other claims and criteria.

The simple fact of the matter is that Democrats don't admonish Republicans on issues that they don't want to (for whatever reason). I would not read too much into it about their values or positions.

Earnest~

Pose this question to many in the Republican party as well!
There are numerous Republicans who are distancing themselves from the President and his administration.

Not every single Republican feels as you do!

I don't understand why you feel the need to call someone UnPatriotic just because they disagree with you or your unwavering belief that somewhere in the Middle East are people who are out to get you!!

The reason that there are pissed off people in the M.E. is because of the U.S. foreign policy over the last few decades!!!

You can try to spin the truth and call it a religious quest that they hate us for our freedom but the truth remains the same ....they hate us because the U.S. government wants to dominate everything they have and everything they are......just as many in this and previous administrations have tried to do to the American people!!!!

Sad~~It seems you have swallowed this U.S. propaganda "Hook Line and Sinker"!!!!!!

Yes there probably are some Radicals who look at the U.S. and can't help but think that we are a society of debauchery and sin ....and well when society holds out examples like Paris Hilton and that whole Hollywood crowd and Vegas and that whole "party" and drugs and sex and everything else that even Americans are addicted to peering at .....and that's just for starters.....I am sure there are a few Radicals that hate us for that!

But for the most part it is because some like Osama Bin Laden and many of his followers don't want U.S. meddling in their affairs!!!

And to your ....Respecting the President.....Respect is earned!!

President Bush NOR President Clinton NOR GHW Bush NOR Reagan have earned my respect!!

I respect the Office......not the individuals who have Bastardized it for the better part of 4 or 5 decades!!!

EDIT: And by the way .......that whole "supporting the troops" nonsense.......well the Republican talking point of Dems not supporting the troops HAS worked hasn't it? The Democrat Congress HAS stated time and again that they wouldn't cut off funding for the troops......and then when you guys get that decision ....you then turn around and say the Democrats haven't delivered to the people as they promised they would by ending the war!!!!!!!

So how was that cake that you had and ate????
