Trust me ... Friday is HELL especially close to a major holiday ... Best time to leave is 8 am!

If you have to leave at 12 30 just be sure you HIT the road at 12 30 and take 210 freeway East to 215 / 15 Fwy towards Barstow and you'd be fine ...

Letting you know that 10 fwy is pure hell from Los Angeles to 15 fwy ...

If you can't leave until 12:30, then I would make sure you are on the road at 12:30.

At 12:30 you might get lucky and be fine, but traffic to Vegas starts to get thick by then on a Friday. Your problem is you are at least an hour away from the thickest part of traffic, the section of the 15 from the 60 all the way to Victorville. Try to leave earlier if you can, otherwise there is no "best" time until after midnight.

From a person in Las Vegas who regularly greets incoming guests from CA, I'd have to agree that you'll be on the road a long time. Especially the Friday before July 4th. However, the earlier you can get out of the Greater L.A. area, the better chance you will have of avoiding the heaviest traffic along I-15 the rest of the way into Las Vegas.

I have done the drive countless times and by 12:30, you are already pretty much screwed. Last friday for example, by noon the 15 was already backed up going up the Cajon Pass. If you have to leave at 12:30, make haste to get on the road as it will only get worse as the afternoon goes on. The other option is to wait until after 9PM when it gets better.

This is one of the reasons why I now go up on Saturday. If not only miss much of the weekend traffic, you also onlyget stuck paying for 1 weekend night. The only downside is some places don't allow saturday arrivals but I have never had a problem finding a decent place to stay in spite of it.

Good luck and have a great trip.

Las Vegas is probably the most interesting and entertaining city in the world and with hotelbye you will see out more. Nowhere otherwise on the planet you will find a town that has most of the travel amenities that only a complete resort location could possibly offer: magnificent casino lodges, fine dining, great stay activity and state-of-the artwork convention and deal show facilities. Las Vegas is surely a magnificent city and anything that you'd assume from a world-class city, and more, is the following for the vacation pleasure. Among the places you must visit in Las Vegas is the Fremont Street, a pedestrian place with all sorts of unique sites.

12:30 in the afternoon from Los Angeles? Good Luck! You'll be sitting in traffic in LA longer than it will take you to make the drive to Vegas. I'd leave at night, 9:30ish.

See a superstar; glass a cocktail on a roof club at sunset; slip on a set of custom sneakers within an ultra-luxurious boutique in Beverly Hills; perform at Universal Studios Hollywood theme park, explore world-class museums, or dance the night away in a starlet-filled club…..this are just someof the things you will see in Los Angeles, find this city with hotelbye . Los Angeles may be the California's liveliest town; may be the amusement capital of America, with megastar wattage and unlimited activities. Hollywood is the most-see attractions in Los Angeles. This place draws an incredible number of guests each year who travel there to cover gratitude to their favorite stars and maybe even get a view of a couple of popular personalities. And occasionally they are fortunate!

I agree that the earlier you can get out, the better. If you wait for it to cool off, you end up being in the traffic of people who don't get out of work until after 5. The poster who said to leave on Saturday was also pretty right on...still early if you go, though. Like 6AM...seriously. I-15 sucks something fierce.

Leave by 6pm. The heat is horrible once you pass over the San Bernardino Mountains into the high dessert. High in Las Vegas is 109.
