Why do 60% of American husbands cheat on their wives?

Question

They commit adultery and have relations with other women while they are married, why is this number so high and what does it tell you about the American male morality?

I am just asking I am too young for marriage but I was shocked by these results

It has more to do with biochemistry than morality. Men are constantly flooded with hormones that make them desire sex. Women produce these hormones at the beginning of a new relationship. This leads to an active sex life, which men assume will continue. But for women, the hormone production usually falls off after about four years, sooner if there are children. Bewildered men either learn to do without or they look for sex elswhere. If the sex drive weren't so powerful, the species would not have survived so long. Perhaps the Mormons had the right idea.

Well, I tried to confirm your stats. The second link seems to agree with your stat, but it also says that 40% of women also cheat.

Does that mean women are 20% better than men ?

What does the stats on women cheating say about female morality ? Why is this question only directed at male cheaters ? What does the fact that 60% of married men find a woman to cheat with say about women ? (OK, maybe a teeny-tiny portion of mistress's don't know that the man is married, but most do, )

Why are you focused only on why MEN cheat ? Is it any less wrong when women cheat ?

I've got to agree with Eve and Sam, American women have turned into spoiled brat bi*ches alright.
How did they get such an unrealistic sense of entitlement?
Up here in Seattle, they're really bad. Most are overweight, men trashers, single mom capital of the country. They do whatever the h*ll they want without accountability.
I don't advocate cheating. I think one should honor their commitments and/or should find an amicable resolution to a bad marriage. But I understand why some men might go elsewhere for another, these women drive them away.

The reason that people (men and women) cheat and have broken marriages is that they marry for the wrong reason. They don't marry for love, commitment and respect. They marry because of lust, pregnancies, and what the other person can do for them. Here is what God says about real love:

Man is no different than any other animal on this planet. He developed as you did from a monkey. How many monkeys, lions, deer, rabbits or anything else have only one mate? Having just one mate isn't normal. It ain't nature's way of doing things. Man made religions have tried to change that but they never will. Women must get used to it and stop complaining!

Cheating is not definitely a cultural thing but it helps. Culture promotes the adultary sometimes

I think the the question should focus towards why we are getting married knowing that most of us will cheat on each other...

Because once they do it and we let them get away with it, it's like saying that it's OK to do it. I know it's against the law to hurt or kill a no good b@stard when they do that. But my thing is that they deserve some type of punishment. All my dating years I have always told my men upfront that if they cheated on me, that I would not get mad but I will get even. Now I know 2 wrongs don't make a right. But if my man can go out there and give my candy away, then I can give his candy away to someone else too! And then I go and get someone who looks even more gorgeous then my man's @ss! And flaunt that sh!t! What can he do? He f*cked up 1st! And I told them from the beginning of the relationship not to do it. Honey do you know how many times I got my boyfriends back for doing dirt to me and they couldn't say a damn word! All they could do is stand there and look stupid. Because they knew that if they even thought about trying to hurt me that when they went to sleep that I was going to boil water, do a splash, and then beat their @ss with a hot pot! Enough said!
