To everyone who answered with a zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, at last!! You admit your all sleeping!! Why dont you wake up and smell the coffee then?
The money is going towards important stuff like, The McCanns lifestyle, Flying Family and Friends out to be with them, jetting off everywhere, Villa-searching, paying family members to be "campaign Managers" and Trustees, The McCanns lifestyle, day-to-day living, posters and balloons (you have to speculate to accumulate), The McCanns lifestyle, etc etc.
I donated at the beginning. Ive asked no less than 5 times what themoney will be used for, not had one single reply.
Funny that...........

Simple answer is, we don't know.
I know the money is being put into a limited company, and the articles of the company are on the website if you want to go looking.
The big problem I have with it is that most community efforts and appeals are collecting large amounts of money under the mistaken belief that it will be used to fund searches for the child and to try to find whoever took her, and maybe I'm not very bright, but that seems to be synonymous with hiring private investigators of some sort, which Gerry has clearly told us will not happen in the foreseeable future.
They are running a big appeal on tv in Ireland currently, with prominent tv presenters fronting ads for the campaign. The only purpose of these ads is to raise yet more money. No mention is made of a company, no mention is made of the money being used to financially support the family, and no mention is made of the fact that the McCann's are not actively searching for the child, nor have they been at any stage.
They're still plugging away raising lots of money though, and as some have said, no-one is entitled to know how the money is being spent. I reckon you could say it's money being raised under false pretences in some ways.

Even asking this question puts you in the Hate McCann Clan camp, do you not realise this? Do not question anything about the money, the case, the many versions of events. You are not meant to ask. You should just know that the money is being 'well spent' by people who know better than you or me. More caring people than you or me too. How can you even think about money when this tragedy has happened? How can you ask such a cruel question when the family have suffered so much?
You'll feel better for not asking this question. See? You feel better already. More innocent already.

You have a very good point! The money is to be used in ways to help find her, however alot of it will be spent on the firm of solicitors who`s offices are at 1 Hare Court, London, who specialise in laws relating to children. I do not understand why they need this team of UK based lawyers who specialise in UK law. They have several QC`s amongst them and will be charging extortionate fees (by the hour)
How is this helping find Madelaine, their expenses to see the pope, European tour and North African jolly will have used vital funds.
The fund will also be used for this balloon fest, ridiculous.
Why has this fund not been turned into a charitable trust yet, they said it would take a long time and be very complicated, however the Tsunami appeal took only 2 days to set up, makes you wonder eh!

Its a limited company. Beyond the requirement to lodge accounts at company house and to act within the law and European accounting standards what they do with the cash is absolutely nothing to do with you and is none of your business. So stop being curios! I'm sure the McCanns will tell you what they want you to know in due course.
UPDATE FOR DOLLY & KELLY
It is not a charity it is a limited company, wise up. The point is if you are stupid enough to give your money to a limited company you have no rights to any additional info or for them to spend it in any particular way. I'm not saying this is right it is just a fact. You can whine all you like about needing to be told and you're motivation for giving to be respected. However anyone who gave money gave to a limited company. You can't tell HSBC or Tesco how to spend their money the same is true here. If you want to know your money is properly spent then give it to a children's charity, if you trust the McCanns to do the right thing and think it will help find the little girl then give it to them but don't expect any rights or say over how they spend it and don't start moaning if they buy a yacht and a brace of sports cars.

You musn't ask that, that sort of question is 'unwelcome' according to the McCann Clan Edict No 351.3.a.ii.
Apparently its:-
a. to find maddy
b. to support associated cost of pursuing those responsible
c. to support family's cost - their overseas expenses like villa to stay in, etc
d. and anything left over they will use to focus on other 'child retrievals'

No one is quite that up to date LOL. Apparently for expenses, but in the event of her being found dead or alive, to other missing children funds in Portugal and Britain.

I reckon Babysham has the right answer, but how many of you Mc Cann bashers actually gave any money, none I guess, so leave them alone, they're not spending any of your's. you should be ashamed of yourselves.
