You are not being a fool by getting up and cleaning. You are simply blowing off the steam and are cooling before becoming your normal cheerful self.

If you have decided not to do anymore cleaning because you have a family and feel like you are the only one who cleans then you might appreciate this suggestion. I have a husband and 3 kids yet the chores were unevenly divided. I was doing the most, then my husband, then my kids. Yet, I am the one gone for 7 hours a day. Now that it's summer, the kids are home. So, one day I sat down at the computer and typed out what each of us did. Then I printed the list and told the others to pick some of the things off of my list. My oldest daughter now does the laundry. My second daughter empties the dishwasher, waters the plants and dusts & sweeps, when I remind her. My son sets the table and helps put food away after dinner. It has helped a lot. You might want to make a list and ask your family members to pick some of your chores so you won't feel so overwhelmed.

Yeah I got sick of being the only one doing anything when everyone else was making a huge mess!! So I went on a cleaning strike to see how long it would take for everyone else to realize the house is disgusting and they should help out. Well guess what the house got messier and nothing got done then I had a BIG job at the end. So I decided I will just keep going behind everyone hoping they get sick of my griping and clean up after themselves.

Yeah. Sometimes you're just not motivated to do it, and then when there's so much stuff on the floor that you can barely walk, it's like "okay, maybe I should clean now."

Wow, and to proud mamma above me, I wouldn't have given up on that. I would've screamed at my kids and my husband to clean everything up, or I would've kicked them out of the house until they did. I guess that's why I'm not a mother. :P

This reminds me of the story about the couple that moved out and pitched a tent in there driveway to try and get their children to realize how messy they were. I wonder if it worked. Everyone in the household has to compromise to a certain extent. I hope things work out for you.

You have to clean regardless of what anyone says or do because you live there.
What you can do is tell everyone that they need to help you finish or they don't eat!
