Biden has immense experience, he's bright, well spoken, fantastic debater, has been in politics for 34 years, has a solid record, has many friends on both sides who very well known and respected, has been brilliant at foregin policy, and has a very workable plan to solve Iraq. He has all the qualities of a President, in my opnion - of course.

Will this change over time?

People need to research out the other candidates who more qualified rather than ride the media band wagon that does it for them - and often times makes the wrong desicion.

All politicans have a past. Look at Bush? He used coke, he's an alcholic, he smoked weed. Did that stop him?

Polticans regardless of politics act immature. They grow up. They change. Why is this bad?

And, I have seen Bill Richardson and have researched him out. He stumbled and he seems confused with issues pertaining to Iraq as well as Domestic issues. I have seen both debates and was not all impressed with him.

I agree with your position on researching voting records and the history of candidates.
I have worked a few elections, and understanding polls and the media, they only want to highlight the "stars" or the frontrunners of any election. Unfortunately, it doesn't like to waste print or air time on candidates who voters aren't likely to elect. Biden fits into this category.

If you get the chance to volunteer to work in a campaign, I suggest you do so. You can learn all about the inner workings and behind the scenes stuff like how all of it works. The media can shape the personality of the candidate that THEY would like to see elected. Remember that major newspapers and tv news stations are owned by mostly members in any particular political party. Especially on the Board of Directors.

I bet it is because Biden is nothing new. When you have the opportunity for the first female president or the first African-American president, the media jumps on it because both are interesting stories. I agree that Biden is experienced, but he lacks that charisma (Hillary kind of does too) that equals votes. Unfortunately, Americans are rather superficial and will not take the time to actually research the candidates. That is why the Republican current leaders are the well-knowns or good looking (Romney). However, the Dems. are lucky...lots of strong candidates this time around.

Both Biden and Obama came up with that plan for one thing.
The most qualified person is not Biden though, it is Bill Richardson, governor of New Mexico. If you really do research you will realize this.
Clinton and Obama get the most press because the press goes after sensational news, not anything of real value. They don't call it the boob tube for nothing.
