Ive read the answer's from the other readers and 4 all you racist butt heads this country was built by foreigners. Check out your own family tree! the people who believe there jobs r @ risk are lazy azz Americans looking 4 an excuse to stay on welfare!
He needs a lot of paper work and $$$! Its really easy to get married but if he has N-E thing in his past from outstanding traffic to back pay in child support INS will kick him back to where he came from. all he needs to marry you is a id from his consulate and his pass port he can get both from there. You take that to city hall and get married with the marriage license he can get an ID or drivers license , that does not give him permission to work if hes from Mexico I suggest he register for an EITN thats for Taxes. You than go to INS and apply for him to stay here. It cost a lot of money he will have to report N-E money made here and pay back pay TAXES. They do a major investigation and will check out his life here and in Mexico (kids, other WOMEN) And while the investigation is going on he has to leave the USA. my best friend is going though it now and hes been gone 9mo already she calls him every weekend and now has to send him money because well he was here because there r no jobs in Mexico. INS will ask a lot of questions about your personal lives 2gether so save every gift and photo. Just because your married means nothing now INS can still deny him permission to come back. Plan on a church wedding INS believes he wont break laws of god just for his papers. But there is no guarantee ! Your so young be careful if you help him and hes not the right guy you can never help N-E other later. Good luck sweetheart

Well first you need to apply for a marriage license in California, It is done the same day, at least 12 years ago when I got married. Anyways you might what to contact the county recorders office and find out the details for getting a license. You both will have to appear in person together to apply for a marriage license.
Second step will be to get civil marriage done. Contact a judge in California, you can goggle this info or look in the yellow pages for a judge to marry you. It could cost about $200 - $300 dollars judges fee.
After you get your marriage license, you can either contact an immigration attorney to file his immigration paper which will cost you an arm and a leg. Or you can go to the INS website download the form and mail it in with the required attachments. If approved he will get a work permit and about after 2 years will be called in for an interview for a green card.
I hope this guy you are marrying is in good status, or else your application will be rejected and he will be deported. If he has no legal status in the US, then I suggest you seek the help of an immigration attorney. Law are become very strict these days. Good look.

you'll have to visit the US Immigration site or talk to an immigration lawyer for this kind of question because everybody's situation is different.
For example if he is already a permanent resident you could likely just go and get married- you don't have to wait for him to become a citizen like the other person suggested. Many people live in this country and never become citizens and don't want to. You don't have to be a citizen to do most things.
I highly suggest contacting a lawyer with your questions if he is not a permanent resident though and they will tell you your best course of action. You don't want him to have to leave the country to file for a visa or something just because you did something in the wrong order.
Good luck!

I went thru this myself. In order to get married all you need to do is fill out the application providing a form of ID thats it for the civil wedding part and of course pay the small 18 dollar fee. Then comes the harder part depending on how he or she got into this country it will vary on the process. But it costs about 800 dollars if you fill out all the paperwork and about 2000 if you get someone else to do it for you. Go to the California INS office in Downtown Los Angeles or any other location and they wil give you the necessary paperwork, you need anm appointment by the way , Good Luck.

He needs to go back to his country... if not.. then YOU need to report him to INS.
IF you decide to legally marry him.. I want to hear from you in about a year (back on this topic board) because I can guarantee that all that you believe him to be right now.. is NOT what you're going to see when you make it legal.
Stand by.. you're about to make the BIGGEST MISTAKE of your life. HUGE!
Once he files for divorce (once his citizenship is locked in)... he'll then sue you for spousal support. I have a friend who is going through this same thing right now. What an idiot.
He doesn't "love" you.. this is real life.
