There could be a number of reasons for this sensation.
Coming out of natural sleep paralysis
The matress moving
A dream state..sometimes the mind plays tricks and you dream you are awake.
There could have been something or someone in the room, real or of another world shall we say.
It can be scary....but try not to let it play on your mind too much.

Yes this happened to me when I was about 10 years old, I was lying on my side facing one side of the room and I felt something or someone sitting down on the bed behind my back, next to my feet. It sat there for some time and I was frozen with fear, not knowing whether to try to look or not. The second time it happened I felt two hands gripping on my legs near my ankles. A few nights later I awoke in the middle of the night to see an elderly, stern looking woman sitting on the end of my bed, dressed in some sort of old fashioned grey uniform, like a Victorian nurse or something. My room was always reasonably light, as there was a huge streetlamp right outside the window. I stared at her for a while, unable to move, eventually she kind of gave a half smile and faded away. I spent the rest of the night so petrified that I didn't move a muscle till daylight. I shared a room with my sister, who said that she had not seen anyone, and my parents also said they had both been asleep all night. After that I never experienced anything specific again, but sometimes I feel there is a presence in the room apart from me, when I am home alone. Rarely, if I look into a mirror real quick I get the feeling there was another face in it just before mine. I've decided not to let it scare me, I have no idea what it is all about, but I am sure I don't imagine any of it. On each occasion as a child the shock of it made me wide awake, but so terrified that my body froze and it was an age before I could move again. It could be some sort of protective guide, but the important thing is that you shouldn't be scared. It might not happen again, don't try to contact it or get it to come back.

I would not advise you to try and stop your mom from marrying this guy. It's her choice. Have you tried to get to know this guy? Does he really have a hearing problem. Could you make an effort to understand him. If you can't and they get married then you might try living with your dad on school days and your mom on the weekend. Even though they are talking about marriage, it doesn't mean that the wedding will be right away. Some people are engaged for a year or two. Even though 41/2 years seems a long way away your mom should be planning to be married for the rest of her life. If this is the person who she wants to spend the rest of her life with, try to be happy for her and you and your parents can work out where you live together. Good Luck!

Hello, fear not my friend you answered your own question when you said you were half awake and half asleep, in my experience witht the same situation i found that when i am tired or only half awake i can experience real life sense's such as touch smell sight and sound and they seem as real as ever, i have even expeienced falling. I am one that does believe in the supernatural and have experienced several occassions that made me believe however in my own experience i have felt what you have and over time found out that it has happened to alot of folks and there is nothing to fear, it is not known to be supernatural and is not a mind disease, as far as i know, it is all normal. sleep with peace and luck.cliff

life is a paradox. i suggest that you get the history of the house/unit you're staying in right now. if it's your own place, it's the seller's responsibility to divulge every information that concerns the house/unit. also check the library. the location at times play an important role. i know more knowledge is sometimes not advisable as this might freak u out. i dont know u or what personality u have. but if you happen to be level-headed and a tough one for that matter, then you will deal with this predicament with an open-mind and rectify what needs to be corrected.

It probably was some type of spirit. I was asleep once and a force that I couldn't see sat on my shoulders and tried to suffocate my face against my pillow. I was terrified & could not move. I got pushed onto the floor by this "thing" which proceeded to push my face against the floor. I had nasty carpet burns all over my face. I was 15 yrs old at the time, so i started screaming & my parents came into my room to rescue me.
This is a true story & I wasn't dreaming. These things can happen from time-to-time. You aren't in any danger. The thing that tried to get me never came back.
No one believed me

Don't worry, It's maybe your mind playing tricks on you because you were half asleep/half awake. I believe in signs and I think it could have been something to stur you straight awake. If you don't believe in the supernatural, then don't believe it.lol It was only your mind so don't worry about it.

Behind you? Were you in a king-size bed? Or was the wall behind you??? Seriously! Unless you were on your stomach? And behind you was the foot of the bed! And yes, I had such an happening once and thought a pet was in the bed but none was in the room, and so I thought it might have been a small earthquake! One thing we do know! We aren't as alone as we'd like to think we are, are we? And if that's the case, I immediately pray outloud to the true God in the name of his son Jesus to send these creatures away! Good angels don't try to scare people!

It's a phenomena I have read about which can occur in the circumstances you describe, IE when you are half awake but drifting back to sleep, it also described people in this state "feeling someone touching them" and sometimes, but more rarely, "seeing someone at the end of their bed"

If by "supernatural" you mean the spiritual world, then I absolutely believe in it. There are angels and spirits everywhere. Each of us is made of body, soul, and spirit. There is nothing for you to fear. I have experienced similar things many times. You may have had a visit from a loved one from the other side.
