Better than baking soda -I found the perfect product for this and know many other people that use it. It is a natural carbon product called FRIDGE IT carbon odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great and eliminates the odors and for a long time. It works so much better than baking soda all those sprays, and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Also, alot of sprays have warning statements about being eye irritant. and gels and oils that say keep away from fabric, pets, etc. and just don't eliminate odors. Just put one in your purse and close it. Each only costs a couple of dollars. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it and internet. Definitely worth trying.

What is it made of? If it's cloth, try febreeze. If it's leather then just keep leaving it outside and hope the smell goes away. My sister had a leather purse when a skunk got under the house where she worked. It sprayed. She threw the purse away. If the inside smells you might try some baking soda. I read for shoes to put baking soda and newspaper in them overnight. You might try that.

Some leathers are of poor quality. If airing doesn't help it, nothing much else will. Put it in strong sunlight for a couple of days before throwing it into a garbage can.

Is it possible to wash it by hand??
If not, how about spraying it with fabreze or a strong perfume and then leave a sheet or two fabric softeners and then close it. Good Luck!
